Ok previously I posted twice, first one didnt get anything, second one somebody posted to, to help me... but unfortunately didn't work.. so here im gonna ask and hopefully somebody will know the correct way :)

ok i think i remember you rpost on it :)
and i believe if i remember right that the way u were shown was the correct way, but u may have a US keyboard which seems to miss some keys lol or be mapped in swg anyway
i have taken this from another forum and i hope it helps u out:
the "\" doesnt work on mine, i saw a guide somewhere which told how to do this.
first set a couple of keys to copy and paste, i've set numpad 7 as chat copy and numpad 9 as chat paste. alt-tab out of swg and open notepad write the text there e.g \#FF0000vandaemus shop copy this in notepad. alt-tab back into swg and open the setname for the sign then paste. you wont see the \#ff0000 part just the coloured sign.
