Hey there,

I am new to the Jedi game and i had a couple questions about TEF and other stuff.

Now, it is my understanding that Jedi are always on PvP mode. I planned on sitting at the coronet starport and seeing if anyone would try and attack me but i have sat there for over 2 hours once, seen many a overt imp walk by and nothing happened to me. When you go overt, you get a symbol for the faction you are a part of to the left of your name. I was under the impression that this meant that you could be attacked at any time by someone of the other faction. Seeming as how i see a symbol in my name when i type in crtl-1. I assume i am attackable at any time. So why am i not getting attacked? I keep a TEF flag for 5 minutes after i use my saber to kill or use the force i understand that. I dont however, understand the difference. If i am always in pvp as the mail i got from SWG said i was when i started. Why even have the TEF? When i was a covert reb and i killed a imp out in the field of battle. I got a TEF. That i understand since my character is not always in pvp mode. If i am always in pvp mode though, why would i ever get a TEG. I am always an enemy not a temp one.

Bounty Hunter missions. I know i get points for using the force and my saber. Do i only get these points when i use these powers around people who are close to me that are not grouped? Does being grouped even matter? Or am i safe killing by myself in the field with nobody around for 1000 meters? Do these points ever go away after time? if i played one day and gained alot of visibility points then quit for 4. Would said points go away and my name taken off the terminals?

One more thing on the way we play. It seems VERY hard to get any kind of xp other then saber xp. Thats very easy compared to the rest. I am 4100 on the first level of jedi but i got the first 4 in saber in no time. My healing skill took me forever it seemed and that was ONLY 20k!. My next level is damn 200k and moreover; Padawan is freakin 1.8 million. I kill pretty hard things with my guild mates and i dont really get much Jedi xp. Like maybe 300-400 MAX. using the force in combat like saberstrike or whatever does give me more but when it really does not help me to actually kill the creature i fail to see the risk of getting points for only 100 more points of Jedi xp. I really hope the Devs are going to change things around for all parts of our characters. Not only the permadeath but alot of other things.

Anyway, i have wasted enough of your time :)

from what i've read, jedi are attackable only if they have their lightsaber in their hand. if you have your saber equipped then i don't know. i don't know anything about your other questions, but kudos on attaining your force sensitive slot.

There is some system that will also get a bounty on your head.... but those aren't to much to worry about, since only rangers can Area Track you

Congrats on getting Jedi. Remember to give in to your anger. with hate come power. Dark Jedi Knight here.

Ok, yes, when you equip you get a TEF. Coronet is a bad place if you want to pick a fight because it's honestly a "noob" city so most ppl won't be looking for TEFs. It also depends on where you stand. if it's at the starport, it's highly unlikely that anyone will even notice you. It's been my experience that only overts can attack you as is. Since Jedi are "rebel" at birth, most rebs won't attack you. If you want to be attacked, hang out in Theed or Bestine a bit away from the starport. You'll be easily recognized there...not really sure why you want to do that, especially since you aren't even a padawan yet.

As for Bounty Hunter, any time you use your LS or Jedi Powers in public or around fationally aligned NPCs, you can then become the target of a bounty. Doesn't mean you will. I've been the target of 4 bounties that I know of. Once you hit Jedi Knight, it's pretty funny to see a BH try to solo you. Truth be told, even at Jedi Apprentice 2-0-0-2 you can solo most other combat classes. The best is when some BH tries to pull a pet on you and you force knockdown them, choke them to DoT, mind control their pet to turn their pet against them and then saber them.

Jedi XP is a bear. Use of power and doing quests gets it for you. I have the benefit of multiple jedi in my PA (17 at the moment) and each of us have multiple guardians to protect us from the TEF hunters and thus we don't have to be as cautious.

Oh and FYI, the Jedi bounty/tracking system is completely messed up ATM. The best "tracking" method used against Jedi's and what has been used against me has been "/who" and a large network of friends. It's lucky when they get a hit, I could circumvent that by not making my character searchable and worst of all, if I feel the heat I can go hide and log and then the Bounty is lost.

SoE needs to change the tracking and the bounty system. Badly although I think the type of bounty and those that can access it should be limited for new Jedi until they are at least a certain level in Jedi Apprentice because a Jedi lower then Padawan cant even fight off a Master Marksman much less a Master BH.
