Increased Sightings of UFO'sFollow

I just changed some settings on SWG, but I also just got back to my computer in over a week to play, and it seems to me that there are an increased number of shuttles and ships of varying calliber and design flying over the North Western part of Corellia on the Chilastra Server. Were they always there and because of my computer setting I couldn't see them, or are they something new the DEVs have added. Is this the beggining of a move towards adding Space flight into the game, or just a much needed graphic and visual storyline update. Any information on this will be apreciated.
