Personally I think prices on this thing are outrageous...you people out there do know that tunar is an imaginary thing right?? LOL So the more you have x 0 is well uh 0..lol

It's nice to have lots of tunar to buy these ridiculously (sp) expensive rares that you have to save tons and tons of tunar (nothing) to get...but really its sad...I try to pass off items before selling anything...To me thats part of being a community...H*LL, even if I dont like you I would rather give you a rare than just let it sit in my bank gathering dust, but chances are I will find it a home before that happens..lol

Anyways...sorry bout the rant...but if I find out where it drops I will let you know...Lets kill these stupid prices...BTW as one person pointed out on the station.sony site...the imperial armor drops in lake rathe in the underwater caves....

And what caster has tons of tunar? I am usually giving everything to the tanks and bring bits home...And yes even to friend tanks...because I know they need it to buy these BP that cost tons of tunar...They are the ones saving my paper behind..lol

More and more tanks are greedy about drops anyways so why spend my time arguing with people I dont know...The friend tanks I know are honest and make sure I get a little something... although most of the time I will let them keep more cause of costs...

If you see people discussing how to split up loot its ridiculous and yet it makes sense too...they want most to go to tank and then to the melee for their gear and swords and then to the healer and caster what is left for their drinks(but I am an enc I dont need drinks)...since they know our repairs dont cost much...but the ridiculous part comes into play that I will never have a bank account over 200k...I have barely seen 100k...And that I have been hoarding to save on the "rare" robe that will catch my eye..lol If I can even put in enough to get a bid...

I find myself forfeiting a "not so good/not so sure if I will use it but need to sell it for tunar" rare...more often than not...

Seems to me though that casters in general are the most sharing with rares...we know "rare" rares are hard to find...and most of our rares suck a big ol...you figure that one out..lol...Just my opinion... SO let this guy ask his question for the location...Dont discourage the people out there that arent greedy enough to have a big bank account of nothing in it but a fake number...This is only a game remember?

forget this mess. word on round the coachman is that it isn't that great anyways, its just fashionable. A tunarian trend if you will, like the chilled robe and such used to be. Crappy stats, outrageous prices, but looks kinda cool. pfft.

My post wasnt intended to be mean either...more like the rantings of a mad woman...lol and a little humor about the whole "I've got tunar look at me" situation...Bah so you have tunar...peeetewwwwwiiii on you..lol But please dont take my craziness as mean...it wasnt intended as such..merely pointing out if we work together we can achieve a better level of happiness and enjoyment in playing... =0) Sorry Darkenedone...wasnt meant to offend...my apologies...

1) It is a crystalline orb

2) Drop location... SE of Halas N of Mt. Hatespike in a freezeblood goblin camp. Tak Frostbiter drops this along with two other crap items: iceworn boots and iceworn necklace. Tak spawns in the back of any of the four igloos, in a most likely repeating pattern. If a cleric spawns in that place, kill it. If the placeholder is left alive in one igloo, no other placeholders or Tak can spawn. Tak has a varied spawn time. I've had him spawn instantly after i killed him once. I know one guy who waited at the camp 12 hrs straight (i was with him for 5) to have him spawn. The camp is along the river, N of Diren's Hold. It is the camp on the E side of the river (I think) and usually has some hi lvl ppl in it. Rumor is that Tak spawns only in the top igloo; that is BS. I've killed him in all four. Another rumor is that the orb drops once a day. Once again, BS. It is a totally random loot; although the boots seem to be a bit more common. I have had very good luck here, farming a total of 7 orbs. I sold 4 of em and gave 3 away to guildies, buds, and what not. It can turn into a KSing competition for Tak though, so beware.

3) Tak is a lvl 23-24 healer/caster. The wandering freezebloods range from 15-22 or so.

4) GL!

Dominant is correct. Simply head SE from the entrance to Halas until you hit a river, then follow the river S. The camp is on the E side. It's usually hard the find a GROUP to go there since Tak's spawn time is so long, so most of your time you'll probably either be soloing or on some sort of guild event. Unless you're a tank, I would advise not going there until at least lvl 30 or beyond without at minimum a healer. And as it's been said, the orb does not have the best of stats. It is only sought after because it is the lowest level "glowy" shield. Pre-auction, it would go for quite a lot for a lvl 20 item, but with the auction system in place, the demand has slowed down for these, so it's hard to afford one and even harder to farm for it.

I've never heard of this dropping at the bandits, but it's possible.

I was farming the area while hoping for a spawn to get one for my 22 ench, I got Tak twice, then stayed for another 2hours and didn't see him again.

And one thing, whoever said this isn't that great, BINGO, and I'll save you some crap taking, don't walk around with this as a tank especially at any level past I don't know mid 20's, you'll get laughed. It's valuable becase it's a rare drop and because it's an all/all glowing shield, but it's not really that great.

I don't get why people complain about the the prices of rares on the auction system. Obviously, enough people think the item is worth it to be paying that price. And if you think about it, you could just sell the item for what you paid for it when your done. If in REAL life you won a new house, and you already had one, would you just give it to your buddy or somebody who said they needed a free place to live? So why just give your rares away all the time? The auction system is like a big trading system. You can sell for the standard going price and then buy the rares you really want and need. I guess if it makes you feel like a good person and better than others to give your stuff away go right ahead. I like finding that awesome rare I can use for a dirt cheap price. Sometimes it takes a day or 2 or 3 but it ends up being worth it!!!

The orb shield people mentiont that they heard drops from bandits is the AOK (aura of karana) lv 27 orb shield caster only really nice stats. Drops from ALL and i say ALL bandits not just john as some people think. Its a random drop from anyone i know ive got one from john and from a bandit around a camp fire

Dominant,
I have to say that is the best description of how to obtain a specific rare i have ever seen on this or any other site. I can't really thank you for the info, seeming how I wasted countless hours sitting in igloos and killing placeholders several months ago when I was on too much and this thing sold for way too much, but what I can do is congradulate you on the most elaborate directions to obtain this item. If only you would go to every nice item, especially the high lvl ubers, and provide details in this manner there would be no more confusion when I waste all that time farming mobs cause groups are hard to come by. once again Bravo on the descript.

I would have to agree with Sulfentail, very good walkthrough on the drop-couple of additions to that-kiill all the clerics don't loot- Don't kill the freezeblood ratter- let him be- Seemed to work rather well Tak spawned 3 times in 15 Min Dropped Orb once-someone killed "the ratter" and didn't see tak again after 3 hours or the ratter for that matter. gl hf

To the person who posted anonymusly..you made some good and valid points...I dont consider myself better than anyone else...But having a house in person and having fake pieces of pixels combined to make an item on a video game is different...

No I wouldnt give away my house unless it was to my parents..But I will give my rares to my friends and spread the love..and heres why...

1) Not all of us are strong enough to farm the rares we want/need...Yes I can farm the deathfist reavers as a 49 enc...but my AC/HP 's arent good enough to farm for a rare that I can actually use at 49..

2) Not all of us have the time to farm for things...some are limited to a few hours a day (poor souls like me =0( ) to which if given the choice of grouping or farming..I think you and I both know what I would pick...

3) The prices on these items are so ridiculous...yes a cheap rare makes me estatic and I am willing to pay a little...I just cant afford to give an arm and a leg for something I will use for a few levels only to be constantly seeking the next expensive rare for the next...

4) Not only do I like giving rares cause its fun..like xmas present giving...(its always nice to see someone excited about something good in the game) but on the selfish side of this (and not the reason I do give out rares) there is always the possibility of someone being nice in return and finding something that I can use and remembering me...or reminding others to be nice and spread the love along..

5) The reason I love EQOA is because it is a getaway from real life..and with the people that are only out to get tunar...they remind me of how stingy and obnoxious people can be ...this is a game..and I was hoping to get away from those people out there trying to turn things to profit for no reason...We have enough BIGGIE sizing of things in real life...

6) Its a game..as I stated in 5...why not use it as an opportunity to be different..share...we did learn it all in kindergarten didnt we??

with this being said...you made some great points..I just like giving..and maybe thats just me...but I am gonna keep on trucking...lol
