Can somoner give me a hollo or atleast help earn my own ?Follow

This may be something unheard of but I just started the game in December. I am a novice in every profesion, I have leveled three skills in both artisan, marksman, and medic. I am trying to keep my options open. I know that this is a poor way to expend energy and skill points, but there are two reasons I find myself spreading myself thin. One I really enjoy being able to kill creatures or imp npcs myself, then heal myself while fighting or running away, then resting in a camp of my own making while I make more stim packs and med packs to heal more damage.

The only thing I really need while in the wild is an entertainer to heal my battle faigue. So every now and again I will trudge back into town either to heal my fatigue or find another mission.

I almost never ride my speader anywhere now because I like to gather resources and hunt creatures and construct more items enroute to my next objective. Of course I don't always run, especially if my objective is several towns away. But if it takes less then 10 minutes of constant running to get there, well then I'm hunting, gathering, and crafting along the way.

Here in lies the problem, allthough I am well rounded for solo play, I am not strong enough to gather holo's by myself. I am a covert rebel and had intended on using npc contacts in Corellia to get my own hollos, but the bloody Storm Troopers keep sniping me when I run away and throwing grenades when I take cover and fire back. I haven't tried fighting them hand to hand because there is always more then one trooper, and if one stopped firing to hit me the other would just continue firing.

So am I out of luck, do I need to just bight the bullit and settle on a profession that I might just have to give up as soon as I get my first holo, or is there someone with an answer out there who could help me get my own first holo before spend hours grinding unwanted skills just to get the holo.

P.S. I am a new father of twins, I am a full time employee, and student. I can't allow SW to become more then a free time hobbee, because I don't really have any free time. Right now I play about 5-10 hours a week. I can't play to many more hours before my wife demands me to put the game away and enjoy RL with her. I don't really blame her, real life does have its bennnefits even if you don't get to ever start over.

you do know that if you want to open your jedi slot you have to master what the Holo tells you, which would mean changing your toon quite alot.

I do think that your game time is the biggest threat to your dreams of becoming a jedi, as there is nothing you can/would do about this, and your happy playing a self sufficient toon then dont bother chasing the jedi dream.

I would be more then happy to give up self sufficeincy and focus on one or more professions if I new they were part of the path to becoming a Jedi. Although Time is an issue I would be willing to work tediously for much longer then three months if for only abreviated periods of time per week to attain the Honor of wearing a robe of the Jedi Masters.

Simply put I am not willing to give up self sufficiency this early in the game when I don't even know what my FS will require. If I had a holocron or a sure way of knowing what professions would be required of me to obtain my force novice abilites Jack-of-all-trades would be completely out the door for Man-of-da-Force.

This is why I need a holo now instead of later, so instead of grinding my artisan, or my marksman to obtain the financial backing or muscle to obtain a holo, I could continue role playing self sufficeintly, to a degree, and enjoy the game, while knowing that I am working towards force sensitivity.

I like your style of play, Syljon. I recently looted my first holo from a Darktrooper, but it took "non-conventional" play to do it. I hit him with 2 bleed shots and used feign death (smuggler skill) until he was at the point I could take him down.

I've played since the second week SWG was out, but my first (and second) holo was the freebie from SOE. I've been to the Force Cave on Dant, but only came away with lots of xp instead of holos...the uber campers always claim the corpse, so there is litle chance you'll get one there.

Check the bazaar...you might find a holo that isn't at the high bid mark. Get a group of friends to help you with the Darktroopers, which may drop one. It's not easy to find them, unless you can afford to pay millions of credits to buy one, or find someone who's generous and giving them away.

What server are you on, BTW?

Thanks for some positive feed back, RebNak, I am a covert Rebel on Chilastra and play primarily around Corellia. I would be more then willing to come to any city on any planet on the Chilastra server to obtain help in possessing a holo. I just don't want to grind for the money or the muscle to do it. As I said Ilike being a jack of all trades but it definetly has its drawbacks.

By the way "G" is my in game Screen Name, if anyone was wondering.

I like being self sufficent also! My recommendation is too Earn CH, and TKM or Commando. This is a lethal combo on NPC enemies and will increase your chances of getting a holo solo. Also with this combo you can get good paying missions. Since the only crafting you do with this is camps you do not require many resources other than free ones to craete camps. I would then do what I do and get a bunch of cheap wind generators to start, and sell power to earn money, After you earn enough money move on to mineral resources. All the time your harvestors are earning you coin, you are running 7k-10k missions solo which can be very profitable if you are smart and tab through the npc's and only bother flaming each one once and move on then you can lay waste to whole camps of imps/rebs quickl and earn 70k-140k an hour. I tip well and give lots away or I would easily have had enough to buy a couple holo's by now.

My character has chased holo's so I am in mid transition right now and going to be giving up marksman then medic to finish CH, and more TKA.

Brawler 4-0-0-0
Marksman 3-3-3-4
Medic 2-1-3-1
Scout 4-0-4-1
CH 3-3-3-3
TKA 1-1-1-1

Try some of the above suggestions or just work on money and buy your holocrons

I really don't want anyone to just give me a holo and I definitley cant afford to buy one. What I want is to earn one now early on in the game so I can start working on my first mastery towards Jedi, while not submitting to purely grinding away the few hours I do get to play.

Hey dude just wanted to say your last comment was sweet you should want to earn yor own Holos. I spent the last months grinding out Commando so i could tackle huge enemies like FSC's or Rancor's and I am proud to say that as of last week I obtained my goal. My word of advice is this keep grinding a profession that can get you to the level of Killing Holo droppers. Gettting one Holo is pointless wait till you get a few cause if you jump on your first one and it tells you to grind Entertainer once your done you still have four more proffesions to grind out but you are left with a charachter unable to get another Holo. Besides being commando had been a blast and I have had just as much fun attaining my holos but now its on to the grind Bio-Eng here I come.

P.S. Not my route of choice but you could also focus on making a ton of money and buying the Holos, but I just have too much fun setting things on fire.

I guess my real problem is that what I really want to be is a combat medic, or better yet a combat MD. I am a National Registery Medic in the US, but I have always wanted to be a SWAT or tachtical Medic in a Large Metropolitan area. I want Jedi bad, but I don't want to waste time grinding combat heavy just to get my hollos, when I'd rather be a supporter, you know the guy that's got your back. Does anyone know of a less combat heavy manner in which to obtain Hollos with out out right buying them. Perhaps a long indepth story or plot line to follow, which not only awards Hollos but furhters the over all plot or storyline of the game.
