I just got SWG about 2 weeks ago and i made a wookie. Well, i just read that wookies, all though their nice stats, have faction perk penalties and other drawbacks (armor and such). Should i delete him and remake him as a diff race? I'm almost a Novice CH, i have pistols 4, and Novice sumggler.

no, your wookie sounds very strong so far and once you get novice ch might be a little stronger and pistols 4 is good just get a good pistol and rock out!
Wookies are fine....they do have some disadvantages but they also have many advantages. Armor is not always the best thing in the world, unless you can afford an 80%+ resist set of composite armor, I never thought it was worth the encumberance.

Im a Wookie Armorsmith on the Bria server (talking about an oxymoron, cant wear what i make except for the Mark I - III PSG)with novice rifleman Sniper skills, One of the exceptions to the armor problem with wookies not being able to wear armor was supposably fixed with the RIS armor quest for Maser AS, that will be the only armor wookies will be able wear.
The faction perk penalties only apply to the IMP's due to their biggotry towards alien species. I am a Master Sgt with the rebel alliance and am not penalized for being a wookie.
Ur wookie character looks to be a solid character by ur build so far the lack of armor right now will be offset by ur CH skills and the ablility to have ur Creatures tank for u and take aggro leaving u to shoot from a distance for support and stay out of the main battle.
Hope this helps, the wookie is one of those species of the game that u have to think outside the box to really use due to the lack of being able to wear armor and if u decided to go the artisan profession way the combat skills to hold ur own in a fight for long.
Buffs, PSG and a good weapon will take u a long way.
