I know that FFXI is going to come with the hard drive and they are planning on releasing it this year BUT has anyone heard of any EQOA expansions for the hard drive? If so, explain or post a link or somethin.

If so, then the same thing that make EQPC and other online games sux , will happen to EQOA.

With this 40GB hard drive can it function like an 8MB memorycard and save the settings of an game or does it do something else? I went on EBgames and looked at the final fansty XI resever page and look at the comments for info on the hard drive but couldn't find any info on the hard drive.

btw the hard drive is 9GB. it will function just like an X-Box hardrive. For all of you who never played X-Box...it work just like a memory card, a limitless one. For X-Box tho you can store music on it and then insert it in the game(like wrestling entracne music) or just listen to your "stored soundtrack" instead of the in-game sound. Not sure though if the PS2 hardrdive will do this, but hopefully it will. :)

And to my knowledge, you cannot reformat the hard drive in any capacity.. there are special instruction in the HD BIOS chip that will not let anything delete the partition on there.

I have a few questions on this topic, if I may.

1. Does anyone know of any good sites on the topic of the new final fantasy?

2. Is it an expansion, similiar to frontiers for eqoa, will old char's be carried over, or will everyone be starting from scratch?

3. Will you be able to purchase the hard drive seperate?

4. From what I understand, your going to be able to play the same game on the computer or on your ps2, that's pretty cool. I'm wondering if your going to be able to sit on your ps2, then go to a totally different location and play on the same account/character?

5. Lastly, Sing stated:
"My fear about the Harddrive and EQOA is that will open the doors to hacking the game, esp if they tranfer parts of the game from the server to the users. If so, then the same thing that make EQPC and other online games sux , will happen to EQOA.

Right now, EQOA is pretty much safe from tampering, the HD may open it up to cheating, even if the cheating is user side only."

Is there a lot of cheating/hacking/glitching/ whatever, in the pc version of EQ? I've never played the pc version.

Thanx for any info.

Not at first

PC users when playing on PS2

Someone else asked earlier if you would be able to rip your own music to the HD (The answer is No according to OPM)
