Resources question :: World of Warcraft

Does availability of resources change per planet? I've not been playing very long but yesterday I got myself Engineering III and was going to make some harvesters but they require low grade ore and normally, I was finding low grade ore everywhere but yesterday, there wasn't even any entry for it in my surveying list...

Yes, the resources change, but I can't tell you how often it does. I"ve heard every 7 days or so. Anyone else know?

As a novice armorsmith, I found my steady hide supply turned to junk overnight. The worst part is, I'll need neutronium steel to make Ubese, and this currently doesn't exist at all on my server (Tempest). Guess my next holo will have to wait even longer.

I do not know a pattarn (if any) yet but I do know that it varies per resource. I get info on shifts on the day of 1 through various resources and for eg; A high quality Flora lasted for 4 days while some Iron lasted a week. My best tip for U is to do some research, WP swap w/ other players, and check harvestors/resource lists regulary. Also U might want to keep tabs on any resource hounds in the area. If U got to a resource a little to late... Then U may want to find the next big thing in the area whether it is what U are looking for or not. This could either be traded for what U need or might be as simple as giving up a WP for trade.
