Are the Snowmen gone? :: World of Warcraft

I ran out of snowball ammo the other day and went to find the Snowgatherer. I went to the spot he usually is and didn't find him. I thought maybe somethings going wrong, but right away someone says that they also can't find him. During the Server Downtime, they might have taken them out. If anybody knows, post here!

I saw the one that gives out the 2 damage snowballs outside Castle Lightwolf just yesterday.
