Seems like a lot of people got kicked, but the servers didn't actually go down. Seems like there's an issue with the lobby server. So anyone in the game... don't zone?

Confirmed login difficulties. No ETA for a fix yet.

None of the servers popping up at all for me; client crashes to desktop with a 2002 error. Fun.

Fight through it. I had that for a long time, eventually I got through. The servers are fine, it's just the login server that has issues.

I'll spam through 1017 all day long, whatever. But I draw the line at having to repeatedly enter my password and token number.

Woken up by a huge thunderstorm at 4:30AM, I decided to see if I could log in, and their login servers are still having issues. I hope I can get on at some point Sunday.

Edit: Got on at 5:15. Guess I won't be logging out, but I should be fairly active over the course of the day so I won't feel so bad for taking someone's spot on the server.

Ugh, just got DCed. Not by the game, mind you, but because someone in my household figured it made more sense to reset the router than to reset their computer...

Error 90,000 out of my Ifrit fight. We had won, too. Smiley: madSmiley: madSmiley: mad

[EDIT]

This is actually the most irritated I've been. I wasn't expecting the Ifrit fight, so all of a sudden it was a case of "Fight Ifrit or rot in this pit." And then I was in a group that WOULD NOT avoid the AoE. And they were a Pug/Thaum, so not wealthy in the defense/vitality area.

We wiped on the first nail, because we must have just missed the cutoff for Inferno. But then we survived the second. And my group (meaning the DPS) were incapable of avoiding the AoE. So I was quite happy with myself for successfully healing it with no deaths sans the one I couldn't have helped.

And then I get DCed before I get to reap the rewards because of a persisting error with the duties.

Spend an hour spamming the X key while watching Netflix. Finally get put in a queue. Get error 10602 or something when I get into the world.

I really, really don't need another new error.

Another point of idiocy is them not showing pop levels on the server list. I can get into an alt's server just fine, but not Ultros.

I got kicked this morning after that lag spike. Haven't been able to get back on since. Trying fairly nonstop, too.

It's having so much difficulty just loading the world list that most of the time I can't even make an attempt. /sigh

There's not even much else I want to do today...

How they could have this few servers, I don't understand.

I get server congestion at launches. I 100% understand it. A company isn't going to pay the money to set up all the extra servers when they're ONLY going to be used for 1 or 2 weeks.

Fine, I get it, I've accepted it.

But this is easily the worst launch I've seen for an MMO, by a pretty big margin. It's been a week since launch, and my experience getting on has gotten worse and worse over time. I mean, it went from having difficulties getting into the duty finder, to having difficulties getting in and using the duty finder, to having difficulties getting the world list to load and getting in, to having difficulties getting the lobby server to connect, getting the world list to load, and getting in.

They're giving everyone a free week of game time in apology. But the problem is that they've gone over a week in time they promised access and failed to provide it.

And the communication is just terrible. There are only 4 notices today. One is about Wed's maintenance. Two are about JPN server recovery. One is on character restrictions.

Not a single comment about the issues regarding the world lists or lobby server. Which is clearly what we'd want to know about.

The thing that really gets me is that we were having these issues in Early Access, which was pre-orders and Legacy players. Shouldn't they have had access to pre-order numbers? Then you have to assume there'd be some percentage that weren't pre-ordered who would log in afterwards. I feel like they should have been able to see this coming from a bit farther out.

I get the not expanding servers thing. I do. How they could not implement an AFK timer, I don't understand, nor can I understand why there isn't a higher capacity queue to log in. Their login servers wouldn't be taking such a beating if it placed you in a queue instead of forcing you to repeatedly hammer it with login requests.

The sad part is that I've been having an absolute blast with just about every facet of the game. I'll suffer through the typical poor SE service in order to continue playing. I thought GW2's use of overflow servers was really good, and a similar system could have been beneficial here, if they didn't want to expand the number of servers.

I saw on reddit (so take with a grain of salt), that overflow servers were actually a part of the system that would have been tested in P4, but that the strain of the server was too high for them to be implemented.

Again, grain of salt, just putting it out there.

For the most part, I've been 50/50 with time spent with/without the list, I think. Maybe 40/60 with list to no list.

I haven't seen my character since I lost power, about 2 hours. Watched a movie while spamming. Guess it's time to give up the ghost. Apparently I have a couple podcasts to catch up on, so I will spam while I do that. Smiley: lol
