Quote:
You may remember the story of Ezra Chatterton. He and his father played together in Azeroth, using the World of Warcraft to spend quality time with one another. Ezra had a brain tumor. Thanks to help from the Make-A-Wish foundation and Blizzard, Ezra was able to live out some of his dream of being a game developer. You can see his influence in the Merciless Gladiator's Crossbow of the Phoenix, which is finely crafted to ePhoenix's specification. Ezra was the rider for the first phoenix mount in game. But, only a few months ago, we heard the frightening news that Ezra had suffered a stroke.

Reader Sedna directed us to Ezra's web site for the saddening news. Ezra passed away on Monday, October 20th, at 10PM pacific time. We at WoW Insider would like to offer our sympathies to Ezra's family. Both they and Ezra are in our thoughts. His story was an inspiring one, and we will not forget ePhoenix.

RIP, I make sure to do the quest you designed on every character I have.

It is always sad when a child is lost.

I cant remember the name exactly, but it's in (?)bloodhoof village, the npc is near the bridge i think. It's quite spooky because the kid's voice is used and it sounds... kinda creepy. anyways you have to get some meat and chase his dog down that's running around. A neat little quest indeed, but his voice...

anyways rip ezra

I hope they reuse the crossbow model, or make it level 80 when the expansion comes out, to make sure that it lives on. Rest in peace little guy.

I always feel like I am trying hard to be compassionate when someone I don't know passes away and I give me condolences; but this time I truly am saddened by this. This kid had more spirit and strength than an 80 priest and warrior combined let alone any of us. My thoughts are with the family and he will be missed.

that's crazy, i just did that quest on tuesday to gain the last bit of TB reputation. While i did the quest i remembered the story behind it and actually wondered how the kid was doing.

Having lost a kid, i can honestly say it's the worst thing that can ever happen to you :*(

My condolences to the family.

RIP.

Sad. :( It's interesting how that quest changed my perspective about a lot of things in just a few minutes. I remember running by that guy a bunch of times, and, for whatever reason, I never did the quest. I'd get irritated every time I passed and he asked for help with his dog. Then I found out the origin of the quest and was just stunned. Wow, how awesome was that! I'll do the quest on every character I ever have. Sad that Ezra is gone, but it's really cool just how many people will think about him because of Blizzard's cooperation with Make A Wish Foundation. Good stuff, there.

So as you read this know my friends
I'd love to stay with you all
Please smile when you think of me
My body's gone that's all

À tout le monde [To all the world]
À tout mes amis [To all my friends]
Je vous aime [I love you]
Je dois partir [I have to leave]
These are the last words
I'll ever speak
And they'll set me free

More of a table top RPG Eulogy, but best I can find -

Quote:
There is an empty chair, at the table this day.

A hallowed place where, a friend once played.

The roll of his dice, my ears long to hear.

Or perhaps it would suffice, if he should suddenly appear.

With character sheet in hand, and a bag of Cheeze-doodles to share.

All his friends would stand, as he sat in the empty chair.

I hear his voice a-callin’, and it ties my heart in a knot.

For he cries, “Though a comrade has fallen, You must play for those who cannot.”

We conquered worlds on the run, he and I in the name of fun.

And as others may come and go, I make both friend and foe.

But what I long for most, is our past now long a ghost.

- Poem from the guys at KenzerCo.
