I'll say this- Blizzard knows how to make an intro!

Ok...

Giant undead dragon = Sapphiron (Naxx is coming back, after all)? Or Sapphiron's big undead brother?

Edit: Good find, by the way :)

Already a news item,

I found this kind of disappointing. The quality of the cinematic was great, but it focused really only on the Lich King and nothing else. I enjoyed the Pre-BC and BC cinematics because it had classes and races in it which was interesting and fun to watch. Overall i guess it's ok, but not very good. Just my opinion

Oops- I have wow.allakhazam.com bookmarked, so rarely see the home page. And I wouldn't agree about it being disappointing- I'll try not to give too much away. While it doesn't give a lot of content teasers, it focuses on the main point of the trailer- the Lich King. I love the look, and I really like the sense of irony in it.

But hey, not everyone has to like the same thing, right? Smiley: grin

Oh, I didn't mean to berate you tremor, I even updated the news with a link to this post so people can have a place to talk about it ;p

As for it being disapointing, I can almost see the point... except seeing a frost wyrm in cinematic was so insanely badass that it pretty much crush that point into some pudding and eat it.

I agree that, as a sneak peek of upcoming content, it doesn't deliver such goods. But it's brilliant as a poignantly ironic glimpse at Warcraft lore - juxtaposing past and present.

And I'll tell you what: They could scrap plans for live-action Warcraft movies and just spend years to render a CG film like these WoW cinematics and I'd be in seventh heaven. If they had the time and money to make the whole movie at that level of detail and quality, it would be epic.

Excellent trailer, thanks for the link (and like many, I don't actually visit the main page so it was news to me here >.> )

O man, that's nasty. LOL!

Anyway, the trailer was a bit short for my liking, the vanilla wow and TBC trailer were both longer and showed us a little more than this one - that disappointed me a little, but it's still awesome! The message is a bit heavier than Illidan's "You are not prepared", as well. The Lich King doesn't care whether you are prepared... he is, by the looks of it!

Short but awesome, now send me my pre-ordered copy already! *shakes fist angrily*

Was decent, not amazing. As others stated I expected a bit of intro with the various classes as in past expansions. what was given looked/was great, but there could have been more I guess. Who knows, maybe there will be another one.

After watching the WotLK intro I found that one: http://mythicmktg.fileburst.com/war/us/home/flash/WAR_cinematic_08.html

it's the intro of WAR .... WotLK intro is now second!!

And for the dragon: mmo-champion claims this:

Sindragosa
The frostwyrm featured in the video is most likely (as in "not officially confirmed") Sindragosa. Little is known about her for the moment but through datamining we already know that she holds the title of <The Frost Queen> in game and is very closely related to Arthas. One of the subzone of Icecrown Glacier is also named Sindragosa's Fall. (Screenshots of the model of Sindragosa were obviously taken on a non-official server as Icecrown isn't available on live servers for the moment)

I'm right in assuming the voice is Arthas' father talking about Arthas pre-Mal'ganis, right? Quite nice.

Yep, that was Terenas.

Yea... I need to change my pants as well... maybe not as great as TBC intro... but certainly contains a lot of nods to Warcraft 3. The irony of Teranas as the voice-over was jaw dropping... especially considering what he was saying (I won't give it away for the benefit of people who haven't seen it)...

I thought the trailer was great but this made it awesome. Oh, the irony!

Wait, that is irony right? :D

I don't see how it's dissapointing because it shows so little content. We've all seen the gameplay videos 100s of times, and I think Blizz was relying on "leaks" from the beta to help with the hype. We've all seen how the classes play and look, so to me it'd be pointless to show a mage sheeping and a warrior smashing face like the Vanilla and BC trailers have.

The Frost Wyrm Arthas "summons" is what I want the DK flying mount to look like, not the model now that looks like a turkey skeleton with larger wings.

Also if the people who do the Warcraft cinnematics are the ones who are working on the movie I don't think anyone will be disappointed with the animation aspect.

If they're gonna take it out, it's on Youtube.

I think it was gorgeous, the trailer is the third thing I look forward to most from the expansions, 1. The expansion (duh!) 2. When they release the talent trees and new spells early, and 3. The trailer!

I don't remember the last time I seen a video that made me shiver quite like that. I love army's of undead better then army's of orcs, knights etc.

PS. New pants count 4-5?

The people responsible for this trailer should be paid a lot of money to make a feature length film!

Epic trailer.

Any chance of an Alla premium d/l link for the hq version (100mb)?

I think it possible that Frost Wyrms will be WotLK's version of the Netherdrake, a prestige mount requiring a great deal of effort to obtain. After all, from a lore standpoint there are no shortage of them. Parts of Northrend are the traditional death-grounds for all of the world's dragons.

There is the small problem of them being bound to the Lich King's will though. Maybe the quest chain could involve breaking his control over them?
