About this thread:

I'm set up now to take super-high-quality pics and I'll try to update w/ new screenshots regularly. Feel free to post questions and screenshot requests - and I'll try to help.

I'm balancing my beta time between 2 toons - a lowbie Blood Elf Rogue Jewelcrafter exploring the new 1-10 and 10-20 questing areas and my L60 Tauren Druid to explore the Outlands. I don't have THAT much time on my hands because I still have an active guild to run - but I do intend to use my beta time to test and explore the new content, and I'll take photos of everything as I go.

Check back regularly for updates.

==========================================================================

Day 3 *New*

Another set of pics!

Some good news - the Draenei race is back online! See below for some pics of the starting area, as well as some character-gen-screenshots of various "random" characters.

First thing I did today - I loaded up in Hellfire Penn to continue my PvE and PvP quests there:

Whatever that is, it's L?? and scary!
A pic of me capturing the Stadium, one of the three flag points

One thing that I thought was cool - there is a zone-specific faction, complete with it's own reputation AND PvP rewards. The PvP rewards are given out for tokens, which can be attained by capturing PvP objective and for killing other players

Some PvP rewards for zone-specific PvP
Finishing the PvP quest gives 5 marks - enough for the first reward

A few of us capping a flag point
Flag point captured!

An interesting Hunter pet (sorry bad pic but it moved!)

Draenei

First of all, it's too hard to speel. It is going to become the most mispeeeelt word ever ... BTW - they have Russian accents. Ummmm.... Yeah.

Let's have a look at the starting area:

The spot where you enter the world
I guess that's the spaceship? Awfully small for a whole race..
Map of the starting area
A L1 Gurlie Drae

Then, I made a L1 Shaman named Galka who will be my testing friend ...

A nice look at the landscape.
Another look at my L1 Shaman w/ some mobs nearby

Next update I'll add some more Draenei content and hopefully some Arena PvP (if they fix the BGs).

Cheers!

Day 2

Last night I downloaded the Beta onto my gaming PC so that I could provide some nice high-quality images. I turned up EVERY setting, including terrain distance and FSG, to max and I run @ 1600x1200 - so these pics are pretty much as good as it gets =) For reference, they are being rendered w/ my new n7950GT 512meg card so all the lighting and shading effects should be present and accounted for!

On to the pics-

First off - I had to reroll. The BE males are all - not ugly - but ugly to me. So, logically, I had to roll a female BE, and since it's an elf, I figure I'd have to be a Rouge - Errr Rogue ;)

Welcome Spikey, L1 BE Rogue

Now, let's take a fresh look at the starting area scenery w/ the settings up:

Fighting a new L1 mob
A L3 Quest spot
(Nicer) View from the L3-4 "Dungeon"

Then I noticed something cool -- There is a new LFG Function!!!

LFG Window 1
LFG Window 2

Now have a look at the inside of a Blood Elf-style building:

The L5 town inn

Some Misc shots from around the L1-10 area:

Silvermoon City - View from outside the entrance
A L6 mob
A L6 Dragonhawk - Yes they are tamable for Hunters!
Me and that Undead mob are gonna put some herbs in that Hookah!

Blood Elf Mounts anyone?

Too bad Gnomes can't ride these..

Then I went to check if my L60 Druid was transfered yet -- And he was!! I'm not sure if it will happen for everyone or just beta, but I got a free respec. I specced for all-out DPS but sadly didn't take any of the new talents =( I just wasn't feeling adventurous and like the 14/32/5 build so I went with it.

The new Honor screen
415k Tee En El

On my way through Blasted Lands
The Dark Portal
Beyond The Dark Portal!
Very scary dude making Infernals fight each other!

Looks like you need a flying mount to get there ..
Some more scenery from the air
And some more

Rewards from a L62 Dungeon quest

Me and my Druid doing a kill quest

... And then the server crashed, so that's all for now. Enjoy!

Day 1

My previous thread can be found at

http://wow.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=21;mid=116076933577658069

I wanted to start a single thread where I can provide my experiences and screenshots while there is no NDA in effect.

I will post updates as I get further. Within another day or so I hope to have my 60 Druid transfered in so that I'll have a chance to experience the L60+ content. I've learned that they seriously cut the exp curve for the beta to let us get up in levels quickly so it should be an interesting experience.

Enjoy!

(Note - these pictures were NOT taken on my gaming rig and thus dont' look nearly as good as the ones above)

Silvermoon City

SMC is The Blood Elf main city:

The entrance of Silverwing City
After walking through the entrance
Map of SMC
Another pic inside the city

Jewelcrafting

I picked up 1 skill in Jewelcrafting so that I could see the mats. It looks like similar mats to Blacksmithing and Engineering, at least the recipes I could see. I'll let the pics speak for themselves:

The ring has +1 int as a stat
Another look at the same thing
A look at a L30 neck recipe
A L1 item that caught my eye Note - Takes 10 (ten) rough stones to make

More to come!

Quick, put a copyright on them saying they can't be used anywhere else but on imageshack Smiley: lolSmiley: laughSmiley: lol

Seriously though, good pics. I'm interested in that statue thingy... I wonder just how "good" they'll be. Enough to help out healers some or just like a measly 10hp/tick or something at higher levels. I also like that neck, pretty nifty.

Looks neat, cant wait for tbc. The jewelcrafting profession also looks interesting, and im definitely gonna pick it up. One hting though, Silvermoon City doesnt really seem to work with blood elfs imo. It sounds more of a darkish, starry place like the draenei city. i dont know, does then name have to do with the warcraft games? I never played them...

I am playing on my main tonight but I'll go do some mining and jewelcrafting on my BE tomorrow and I'll let you know.

As for the BE city not matching the BE look .. Some of the rooms/buildings are very "arcane" looking. There are some very cool graphics. I'll try to get some pics inside buildings and post them for your enjoyment.

I can't wait to play just to run around the city, it looks so cool.

I can't wait. The jewelcrafting profession looks really neat. Guess I better take the pally out for an ore run since I plan on picking this up for my toons. Thanks for the pics Jord, much appreciated.

jord, do me a favor and level as resto. not entirely raid focused, get some feral or balance to, er, balance things out, but go at least to swiftmend (since i doubt no druid would take ToL form before 68 or so).

i ask this because resto received HUGE buffs to dps in the recent talent changes, most importantly the merging of natural weapons with improved healing touch, and id like to see what kinds of effects this has on resto druid soloing. im not really looking for a time per level number, more of a per kill "feel". you know what im talking about; resto used to blow *** for soloing, even tho you could effectively go on forever, it took forever to kill a mob, even in feral gear. now, with these changes (a global 10% to physical damage is huge just by itself) im wondering how per mob killability is.

you dont have too, but just like, one or two levels would be nice, just to get an idea. play it like youre a healing druid in a guild thats mostly instance focused.

Can you find the drained Sunwell in there?
Nice pics, Spellbreakers look perfecto!
Altho I agree, I think it doesnt show much blood elfish look.

I'd much rather see how well the Balance tree's been buffed and how that works, not to mention the Tree summons to see if it's worth getting or not. (I'm betting not)

Though if he goes with resto and can go deep enough to get the treeform.... :p

Not only am I glad you're finally getting to play in the beta, Jord, but thankya very kindly for posting the pics. I had my reservations about TBC but after seeing Silvermoon (gorgeous!) I don't think I could be more stoked about it... I just can't wait. :D

Blood elves ROCK!

I loved how they looked in FFXI and it seems the BE have matched that sort of elven "figure".

NE just never did it for me. And BE seem to be more... human.

I saw this:

Meeting Stone functionality has also improved. If two members of your party are near the instance, try clicking on the Meeting Stone. I believe you will be pleasantly surprised to find an option that allows you to summon party members without the aid of a Warlock. Cheers.

Sounds great!

Would you say that those of us who became bored at endgame would be able to continue on to 70 with the same feeling of 1-59?

Well I guess that depends WHY you were bored.

If you are the type of player who enjoys working through objective solo and in small groups to attain your goals then I'd say it will give you a lot to do. The exp curve after 60 is HUGE (415,500 exp required to hit 61) and it seems it was done that way because there is a very large amount of new content to spend your time on. I only scratched the surface on a single zone and already found quests from multiple outposts with both PvE and world PvP objectives as well as quests for an instance.
