Resilience vs. Stam or primary stat?Follow

This questions pertains to gemming pvp gear. My resilience is currently over 4300.

Is there a point where enough resilience is enough and gemming for Stam or a primary stat (e.g., Agi) is more beneficial? Or, is adding more resilience always good?

4300 resil? Nice.

I'm relatively new to PVP but the guildees finally won out and got me doing it - I'm mostly geared up now and working on Conquest items so I'm sitting around 3700 resil IIRC.

So not that I have much to add to your question other than yeah I'd like to know too :)

Edit: Oh and I actually have always gemmed AGI for my druid. Not saying it's the best choice since I'm new to PVP...

What are you playing?

I'm still gemming resilience but I just hit 85 on my latest PvPer, so that's not a surprise. I've heard various people say there's a point where they 'feel comfortable' with their survivability and focus more on something else. The argument somewhere along the lines of: resilience keeps you alive, but more intellect (just to choose one) helps keep your teammates alive. You heal your teammates, damage the enemy enough to get them to peel off, etc.

Feral druid.

This post at MMO-Champion suggests adding resilience is always beneficial. But, like I said, just wondering if there's a sweet spot where adding something like Agi (or Int for healers) becomes attractive.

Thanks for replies so far.

There are a couple times I would suggest Primary/secondary over Resil.

1. If you are not hit capped or if reforging would give you too much then gem for it
2. If the slot bonus is good then gem for it. Red: primary stat Blue: I'd use a green gem of your choice or ignore the bonus. Spell pen is a good blue gem but not in your case.
3. If your'e doing arena or RBG and your heals can keep you up at your current resil then stack more primary

My DK has a little over 4700 resil. I have gemmed and enchanted for it and I'm looking for ways to get more of it. I normally just do TB and random BGs so I don't plan on getting heals and want to take as little dmg as possible.

In the arena my team is a double dps and again no heals and I just need to survive long enough to keep my them off my partner while we burn one down.

The more resil I get the better my performance is. If I had a healer I think I could safely cut out 1k resil and boost my dps.

How I gemmed

Yeah I had come across that post myself. My 'take-home' from that was that more resilience will always increase your effective health (and it gets better the more of it you have) so it's always a good option at least. What was left in my mind though, was the times you'd want to deviate from it. You know, the points when maximizing your effective health wasn't what you need to win.

I suppose if you're losing matches because you are running OOM, or can't burn down the other team it would speak to needing more throughput and less survivability, but I'm just speculating here. Smiley: smile
