I was an angry ex-mage for a while, when I played mage before they became FoTM ferals steamrolled mages and the only response was "games not balanced around 1v1"

So I got kind of bitter about them, but thats a stupid mentality to have.

Ferals are not, and never have been OP. Annoying in some 1v1 cases, maybe, great 1v1 class, sure but never actually overpowered in PVP.

It kind of frustrates me how the same old classes dominate season after season, you know the DKs and warriors and a couple healers are always on top. I laugh when people say mages are blizzards love child. Are you serious? They have sucked in arena for many many seasons. Wow, RMP..compare that to the multiple faceroll cleave teams that dominate season after season. If anything, warriors and dks are blizzards love children. They are consistently strong, not just for a season or so, but like every single season ever. You have to dominate entire expansions to be a love child, and nobody has done this more consistently then DKs, warriors and to an extent RESTO druids. And resto shamans have always been strong, but underplayed, underrated and overly complex for the average player to master. So they really arent a "problem" until you hit 2200+ and start seeing skilled resto shamans for yourself.

I feel like blizzard is going the wrong way with so many of their nerfs. Ferals? Rets? Are you for real? I thought 3v3 was the balancing bracket, show me on the doll where ferals are dominating 3v3 to the point they need nerfs. Their nerf process is just stupid, I'm sorry but they have no clue how to balance PVP anymore.

3 healers incredibly strong, 1 sucks. What do they do about it? Nothing. Ferals and rets, literally not even on the radar of being OP yet they get nerfed. Warriors, dks set to dominate once again, minor changes, moderate CS nerf. Will it hurt their arena rep? Lol.

Hunters, suck as usual. How many seasons in a row have hunters sucked? Its unreal. Why are they so scared to buff hunters? The second they give them a slight buff and even remotely see their numbers in arena improve, they roll back on their heels and nerf them once again.

The only blizzard love children are warriors and dks.

Anyway it will never change.

So my PVP advice is to play a resto druid/shaman, MAYBE a disc priest or pick a 2h wearer ie: warrior/dk find a cleave team and dominate. If you get kited just complain loudly to blizzard and they'll fix it for you so you can faceroll healers once again.

Here is how to cleave to gladiator

1) Enter 3v3
2) Locate enemy healer
3) Tunnel vision enemy healer
4) Scream over vent for your healer to dispell you
5) Collect points

I don't understand why hunters are supposedly terrible. With all the movement buffs (do they have to stand still to do ANYthing anymore?), it seems like they would be an imminently playable class. What's holding them back?

edit: sounds like somebody is grumpy from an unsuccessful first night (as ret) of 3v3! :P

Hunters are actually a pretty good class in the right comp. HDP (hunter/DK/holy pally) can wreck faces with how easy it is for a hunter to kite.

But in reality, 1v1 hunters are either very easy or very hard, depending on how good you are at kiting. If you can't kite and don't know how to use your cooldowns, you're going to cry.

The deadzone sucks, too, though it's better than it was.

Camo is really great too in arena, stops you getting focused immediately and provides sap immunity.

DKs are pretty strong yeah but warriors are on another level. It's like S8 except they all have shadowmourne, and loads of resilience and are really hard to kill. The easiest ride to gladiator by far is double healer warrior 3v3. Buy the Fury of Angerforge trinket off the AH get 5 stacks and global someone when you go dragon.

I'm kinda sick of spending all my time as a s.dance rogue sitting on warriors in arena spamming shiv and stuns just to stop them almost instantly killing my partner. I had to switch to the prep glyph from sprint, not to dismantle bladestorms and shield walls, but just to stop warrior damage as much as possible.

Hunters are like what Mike described resto shamans as, very powerful but far too complex for the average PvPer yo master. And that includes me, hunter PvP is too complex for me to be enjoyable and I'm just not good at it, it feels like you need to be using 3-4 abilities every GCD.

Its also very comp specific and the strats are more complex then faceroll cleaving a healer. I can think of a few teams where a hunter would be awesome, but I can think of lots of teams that dont need a hunter. And at the end of the day stats dont really lie, hunters have had potential for a while but they never quite break out of the bottom of arena. Ferals too. I mean cleave teams are powerful, why not just put ferals on cleaves and have a ton of feral gladiators? In theory that works, in practice its just better to pick someone else. And that was even before the shapeshift nerf. Now they need a dispell babysitter in 3s and you only have so many globals. A ret is a better fit with a warrior partner since the healer OR the ret can just keep dispelling roots off the warrior. And warrior damage/utility >> feral except maybe instant cyclones, but I believe those DR with repent anyways, and waste 5cps which = burst so the odds of a feral killing someone in a cyclone are low.

I can say the exact same thing about every class that's not OP as **** at whatever point we're at in the arena season.

Wait a minute.

Did I take the blue pill? I feel like I'm moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. Like I've crossed over into... The Twilight Zone.
