Can you start atop fortress towers in Wintergrasp?Follow

Back in the day, this happened all the time: at the beginning of wintergrasp, on defense, we have an attacker atop one of our towers, nuking our guns from above. However, I thought that was fixed and I have not seen it for a while. Well, that happened last night. Exploit or working as intended?

I thought I read was that even if we flew into WG during the battle, we would port to a rally point (when we accept the invite?). I really don't think that is happening (for example, we were fighting in the fortress courtyard pre-battle and we simply continued fighting, right there, as it started; thus starting with some enemies within our fortress).

At the start of the match, people get ported outside of the fortress if they're on the walls or in the towers.

Easily worked around by staying on your flying mount at the start of the match (you have 10 secs) and flying to the wall/tower you want to sit on.

Be careful though, as I love cloth classes that do that. I shadowstep up to them and proceed to annihilate them.

I hate when that happens and I go to the top of the tower and exit to try and nuke some people just to get lightning bolted and lava burst and killed in like 3 hits because they had tenacity.

Yes you can start the match inside the enemy fortress.

Rogues can use Shadowstep teleportation and get inside the keep. Much the same way as they can use it to get past closed gates at Strand of the Ancients. So if you can get inside the keep, or past the gates at strand of the ancients, it is allowed.

You could also have a DK friend on the opposite faction help you by using Death Grip to pull you inside the fortress, it works regardless of what class you play.

Or if you are a DK, and you get in, you can have a priest friend from the opposite faction mind control your friends so that you can Death Grip them into the fortress, that will work too.

Another option is to go inside the keep before the battle starts, queue for a dungeon or a bg, and leave the instance/bg after the wintergrasp battle starts, that way to return to where you were standing before you entered the dungeon. It worked last time I did.

Or you could park all your level 80s inside the keep, and relog during the battle, you'd spawn inside the keep.

It's called creative use of game mechanics and you're free to exploit creatively use game mechanics as much and as often as you want.

People can still fly in after the match has started and have enough time to get on top of a tower - is a real pita when they do so although the biggest annoyance is still them parking on top of vehicle shops.

Meh, if they can hit you, you can hit them, unless you're a melee. Don't really see the problem.

Then again, I almost always have Shadowstep nowadays, so maybe I'm the wrong melee to talk to.

My server must be some of the laziest son-of-a-guns because a lot of the problems people talk about never really happen on my server. At least as long as I've been in WG. We have a few annoyances but nothing major usually. I hope it stays like that though, it's nice.

I've never seen a rogue with it be able to get to the top of the workshops.

Yeah, I don't generally go near the workshops, so I wouldn't know. On offense, I'm dropping the canons, and on defense I hang around the fortress to get rank, then I run down to a workshop in the south and make a demo.
