No biggie. I "only" have 8 real toons anyhow, and I'll be wanting to play them all to try out the new talent trees.

A week before MoP hits I've achieved the mounts I wanted to get, except the green proto. Anzu dropped, as did the MgT white chiken. Bought a Travelers Tundra and a lot more stuff. Quite happy with how that went.

I haven't seen either the stonecore or the VP mounts drop once, which is disappointing as I've run both places a good many times on the alts I've leveled since coming back (5). But anyhow, they'll move to farm come MoP, CBA to solo them now when the solo business will be way easier in a week.

Just the green proto to drop for me then for now.

I got it about three weeks ago. Had more or less abandoned any hopes of getting it and was only buying the egg out of habit. Somehow things like this always happen when you are least expecting them.

Edit. Also huge gratz on your new mounts! :)

Grats on Anzu! I just got finished doing my mount farming - Kara, Heroic UP and Sethekk. No luck again. I've never seen the Stonecore mount drop either, but I have two guildies who solo farmed and got it. I'm also waiting till 90 to start farming it. I saw the VP mount once on an alt, but lost the roll. I'll start farming that at 90 too.

I've also been doing the Argent Tournament again to pick up the mounts I never got at 80. Bought the elekk and ram (had tiger and horse already) and need 3 more days to get the mechanostrider.

I was in shock a couple of weeks ago when I realized I didn't have all the mounts or pets from the Argent Tournament. I did those, at least in my eyes, to death back in Wotlk, but then again I wasn't much into pets or similar mounts at the time, so I got the tabard for the teleport (awesome every time I need to go get another one of those eggs for the Green Proto), Grundig for the utility, and a couple more mounts. I'd like to go back to farming what I don't have yet, but it's going to have to wait, quite a long while in fact. Tomorrow I'll do the last of those "Go get me 125 marks scrub" MF quests, and overtomorrow, yeah 5 days before MoP, I'll start taking shots at the bloody pet. Doing those dailies is just about how many dailies I can do on a given day before I fall asleep.

Then, MoP will hit with its own many dailies and gearing up, so I'll have to forgo dailies for a bit there as I concentrate on those. Depending on what that brings I guess I'll start looking into the TB fox and the Spectral Wolf from TB (I have 80 tokens, that's it so far only), and when I'm done with that I'll look perhaps into re-visiting those dailies again and grind me all the mounts and pets, which combined should take around what ... Two months? Insane XD.

I'll be all over VP and Stonecore though, I want those two mounts.

The pet thing is really annoying. I spend about 1100 marks before I got it. Meanwhile a guildie (who's really into dailies) informed me when he deleted his third, his fourth and even his fifth. Since I got mine he has stopped gleefully whispering me whenever he got another one so I don't know if he got any more.

I srsly HAET the whole RNG system!

Your guildie must be having a blast this time round then.

Oh he is. Smiley: lol Every time he unlocks a new quest/quest hub via reputation he cheerfully announces it in TS.
A week ago I was trying to avoid daily hubs like Golden Lotus due to being ganked over and over again. But since I transferred to a PvE server 2 days ago I must say this dailies aren't that bad. I usually do 20-30 per day and I really don't get the massive complaints on the forums. And contrary to popular believe it is not mandatory for anything to do a lot of them every day.

The problem with dailies is not the staggering amount of them IMO, it's rather the VP acquisition rate. Heroics are boring as ... well, rather boring. To the best of my knowledge not one of them drops any mount, which would in itself be a case for me to farm at least those that do. So if you're left in the cold for now in terms of raiding (hope to change that by mid-late November) there's Challenge modes and dailies.

IMO they need to up the VP rewards in some way, be it the 1st HC of the day to 150 or so or completing a full chain of dailies (last quest in most dailies is unlocked after completing the rest) could grant a greater amount of VPs, nothing too great, perhaps 25-50 VPs.

And we need more mounts!

EDIT: About PVE vs PVP servers, I spent a year-ish o a PVP server before moving to my current PVE server and it took me almost two months to shake that feeling that someone was out to get me, as was the case in a PVP server. I'm not a PVP pro, but for some reason I manage to surive (ie kill) 95% or so off attacks when I'm jumped at in PVP servers. I guess people just get carried away or something, but I seldom see people use their CDs properly in world PVP scenarios.

I agree. VP are not easy to get. But it's not that hard either. Especially now thet both LFR versions of Mogu'shan are unlocked. The important part I think is not to try and VP cap in the first 2 or 3 days of an ID. That would be rather tedious and boring. But spaced out over 7 days with some HCs, LFR, a scenario here and there and the dailies of course, I always have the 1000 points by sunday, sometimes on monday. Granted I played rather much the last weeks (2-3 hours/day). Plus I raid. While my guild has only killed the first 2 bosses nHC that's still some VP I get that way.

Problem with my old server was mainly the faction imbalance. The 9th server in this list, Eredar, was my old home. I play Alliance.
I'm not that great a PvPler so the times when I prevail are limited. Also, with this many Horde there seems to be ALWAYS someone who feels the need to intervene when it looks like I stand a chance to win.

Aye ... LFR ... thing is my main is a tank. I've spent up to 90 minutes waiting for an invite and so far have yet to set foot in LFR. Go figure ...

So hijacking this thread back to its original topic...I almost forgot to do my weekly Kara run, so I just went in there and the Fiery Warhorse's Reins finally dropped! I seriously jumped out of my chair when I saw it! I ran Kara for months at 70 and only saw it drop once, and have been farming nearly every week since I hit 80.

I did Kara once, never even realised there was a mount until it dropped for me, love the RNG. MGT dropped first time as well, maybe I should try for Anzu sometime... I'm fairly certain I have the VP mount on one of my characters, I'll have to remember to log onto them all. I reckon I ran UP more times than anyone else in the world during WotLK but I never once seen the drake drop. I was in there virtually every single day, sometimes two or three times a day after the LFD was released, but no joy.

I suppose I should get back to farming Netherdrake Rep someday, but there are already so many dailies taking my attention.

True, but do any of those have the booterang?

I do like the Booterang...

On an almost related note, I went on a rampage through Outlands last night in an effort to obtain both Mounts and Transmogrification peices. I successfully acquired a full set of Paladin tier 4 (King Maulgar was hard, needed help) but sadly didnt get my Hammer of the Naaru. I was really aiming for the dark Purple version of the Paladin Tier 2 Judgement set, but then I decided to solo Maggie and it just escalated from there.
No luck with the Dark Judgement set, and no sign of a Raven mount either, but aoe looting has made it into a very quick source of cash. I have discovered that I can now solo Kael'thas (after quite a few wipes while refining my tactics), so maybe I'll get myself a Phoenix someday.
So for the next few weeks, or months, I will be farming for Anzu and the Phoenix, and hopefully will be able to pick up a few attractive transmogrification pieces. Wish me luck.
