But why this irrational BLAAAARGH POKEMON?
I don't think it's irrational. You summon undersized, seemingly harmless pets to fight battles for you. I think the comparison is pretty rational, especially considering Blizzard's flirt with pop culture and Pokémon being pop culture.

So why complain?
I don't know why people would complain about more content. Judging by the ratedowns, I take it more than one person thought I was complaining. They might want to brush up on their lurking as they'd know I'm not an opponent of more content. Sure, the rolling eyes smiley indicates a certain amount of animosity towards it, but I chose that smiley because it's the closest thing we've got to playful sarcasm without entering creepyland -->
I find it interesting that people would so easily jump to conclusions and utilize the karma system. Blatant ratedowns tell me that some of the proponents of this feature feel powerless in this debate. A wrong signal to send, don't you think? My post wasn't uninformative or unhelpful. It contained what could be construed as my personal opinion on a matter, but hardly something worthy of red arrows.
I've said it before and I'll say it again (since I'm already knee-deep in "don't talk about karma"), the karma system is meant to filter out unwanted posts, not show your disapproval of a post. If you disapprove, tell the person so that a debate can begin and both parties can benefit from the learning experience.
"Be tolerant of everything except intolerance."
- Some Danish professor you don't know
Being able to accept someone's opinion and in return offer your own opinion is what we here call being cultivated and educated. The quote is a paradox, though. Be tolerant of everything, but not intolerance. You'd have to be intolerant of your own intolerance, which is divide by zero and ****.
