You Canadians, with your milk in bags! You think you can just post on a random forum and tell Blizzard how to run things? Do you still have margarine that comes in a plastic bag, containing a dye capsule, that has to be prepared by busting the dye capsule and mixed by hand? You think you can just come in and tell Blizzard how to run things because you get more snow and have more cute polar bears? Do you?

You think, just because you're female and play a gnome that you can write randomly misspelled posts, with no use of the shift key or punctuation and then blame it on the Queen? That you can get our expectations up by promising us that this would be about cow wheels and then just change your mind? Do you really think these are the Blizzard forums and you can use them as a platform because you got yourself banned from the O-Boards?

No! I demand justice! I demand a discussion of Tauren using cross faction mounts from the Goblins or transmog with Engineering to cruise Org dressed as bikers! I demand extra eye drops because I now have an image of said Tauren cruising Org with a topless Tauren female in the side car and that just ain't what I want branded on my retinas this early in the day.

There used to be WOW versions of "The Internet is for ****" and "Bad Touch" out there somewhere. Of course, I'm old and I only watched them so that I could hear what sort of degenerate music you kids listen to; however, that probably* counts as Tauren ****.

Besides, having survived generic hentai, tentacle **** and peculiar Japanese **** in general, not much is going to shock me if I've had my first cup of coffee. I've learned to to be careful about letting Bun-Bun pick movies.Smiley: nod

*True story:
Students: 'Rhode', how many countries have you been to?
Rhode: I don't know?
Students: <shocked> You don't know?
Rhode: No. For example, have I been to Japan? By law, I think I have, but I'm not sure that six hours in the Narita airport should count.

Jokes aside, the OP does make a valid point.

For those of you who can't figure out what they're saying, they're asking why is it that Cogwheels can only be placed in 359 goggles (which are horribly outdated by now).

The buffing mages part, well... *shrugs* Other than Frost still being a bit too powerful in PvP last I heard (I won't comment as I don't PvP myself) and Arcane doing ridiculously high DPS for how easy their rotation is, I don't see a problem with mages.

He DOES have a good point about Cogwheels and Goggles, though -- they feel kinda useless if you can only use them for one, maybe two raiding tiers and that's it. Why insert a whole new type of items and mechanics for using such, if they are only going to be viable for *one* raid tier? That doesn't even sound like it is worth messing around with. Why did they bother expanding the item database for a whole new type of items that will see very little actual use? That's about as absurd as creating a new weapon type for -1- class, but yet only sticking one weapon of that type in the entire game, that can only be used during -1- raiding tier.

I don't know how Explorer or Firefox works, but Chrome allows you to open pictures in a separate tab/window.

Like this?

Sure, but what the hell does mages being OP (not agreeing, just restating what the OP said) have to do with cog wheels? Besides, who would want to use the cog wheels in a decent helm when they could use blue or purple red gems? I used cog wheels on my priest, until I got a good helm that warranted putting in real gems. IIRC, cog wheels are only secondary stats. Blue or purple red gems would be a much better DPS boost. He does make a valid point about making professions more usable though.

Any changes to professions are most likely to occur in the run up to MoP or shortly after its release and sure enough, new cog wheels are right there on the list.

For those that aren't Engineers, that link to WOWDB may help you find additional information about other professions.

Smiley: nodSeems they have all the fields listed. I did check the link and it was working correctly. It might be shorter if I hadn't tried to limit search results to cogwheels.

If you are uncomfortable with what might be lurking in that mess (a reasonable fear these days) google WOWDB or access it through MMO-Champion.

Yes, but what good are Cogwheels if you can only use them on the very first raid tier and are not usable thereafter?

Oh, lookie, new cogwheels!

*Cue Patch 5.1 or 5.2*

Oh, meh, now I can't use cogwheels because they refuse to let us have new goggles, and nothing else has cogwheel slots.

Things are still in beta, we don't know what 5.1 or 5.2 will bring. For now, there will probably be new cogwheels and new goggles. Will there be in the future? That remains to be seen, so let's do just that ... why praise or curse things that we don't really know?

Goggles/cogwheels aren't meant to be our permanent prof bonus. The glove/belt enchants are. Sure it would be nice if goggles got updated, but it's not like other profs get multiple stat advantages over the rest of us.

It's simply another "profession fail" from Blizz. Like always it's gonna take another expansion (and development team essentially) for them to make it better.

Although this issue is for engineering specifically, I'm praying for someone at Blizz to get a better grasp of the profession concept.
