Saw this posted on MMO a few minutes ago. No one on my real-ID list is on, so I can't confirm if it works or not. There are some screen shots in the thread, so it seems legit.

WoW Zam Dungeon Finder runs, anyone?

Edit: Blue

I remember them discussing that being a feature awhile ago. I would have figured there would have been some notification of it though.

"Surprise! One of the most wanted features is live!"

"Um. Wow. Thanks? A little notice would've been nice."

Nice! Can go back to do some heroics with my old pals.
Now, they should add a group chat feature that you could invite RealID friends for.

Just keep in mind, they plan on making this a premium service soon. Likely as soon as this testing phase is over.

Aspects of, not the entire thing. As far as I know they have never said what aspects will be, it's just players going bonkers.

In a previous post, Blizzard said that the idea was: inviting people would be a premium service, but being invited was not. That was back in May, so they may have changed their minds since then.

I've paid for a subscription since they launched the game back in, oh, 2005. I've bought all the expansions and even some of the virtual pets. Hell, I've spent more than $500 on character transfers. Simply being able to remember a time before dual-spec, flying mounts and resilience should give me premium membership.

Bah, it's not like I'll have any use for it. Most of the European Zammers already play on the same server, in the same guild.

You are correct sir, and when you did bgs, you waited a full week to have your honor and titles granted to you!

Battlegrounds?! When I was a kid, son, we didn't have Battlegrounds! We fought other players out in the open, out in the world. It was brutal, unfair and the worst time of my life, but by god, it was awesome!

This!

I remember seeing the Grand Marshall in Ironforge one day. I was like O.O;;.

[EDIT]

Also, I'm playing more casually than I ever have before. For the past week, I've only logged on to do MF dailies on one toon. I've done all the Alliance quests and have no interest in the Horde anymore. I've sampled the new world.

I think I might finally quit for good when this premium service bs goes live. It just seems like going too far to me. Paid character transfers and such made sense, because the cost seemed more like their way of limiting how much it happened more than complete greed (or maybe that was wishful thinking). This doesn't. I've given Blizz enough cash over the years, I refuse to give them more for a service that should absolutely be free.

I think you're getting a bit ahead of yourself Digg. =x Why don't you wait and see what specifics are paid for (if any) before you threaten to quit?

I'm rather see this one for free as well. I'm not too sure why it needs to be premium, though my imagination may just be limited in that regard. Realistically though, unless they're charging next to nothing for it, I won't be getting it. I only get so much money for fun, and I'd rather spend it to purchase premium from ZAM then 'premium' from Blizzard at this point.

As for how this affects me I can't really say. The more casual I become the less I care about things like AH apps and pay-for-use services. They don't affect you much when your main goal atm is doing all the quests in the badlands.

It's kinda the principle of them thinking it's okay to charge for premium services on top of the normal subscription. Frankly, for $15 a month, there shouldn't be any additional subscription necessary.

This is what strikes me as odd about the whole thing, it's pretty much a casual-only sort of system, no?

They Already have the chatroom type option I think only 4 ppl can be in it but if you right click a name there is an option to start a chat and invite multiple RealID friends

I'm a little confused what you mean by that? Smiley: frown

Can you elaborate? Smiley: flowers

To clarify myself a little. While leveling random alts (my current definition of casual*), I could really care less about how much gold I have. So the AH phone app isn't really an issue for me. I'm only doing 5-mans infrequently, so have a FFS (fee for service... what did you think i meant? Smiley: wink) thing to make group isn't really an issue. I'd get less idiots, but fewer people on a RealID list are going to be the same level as me, since I'm not at 85. *shrugs*

*DISCLAIMER: definition likely change randomly as it suits my needs

I mean that the system only let's you queue up for regular or heroic dungeons, which are still in the realm of casual play (at least to me--hardcore doesn't begin until you hit raiding, at least).

And I can't imagine the more casual players would be interested in paying to occasionally play with someone on another server.

If its cheaper than realm transfer(like 1 dollar a month), i could see it being decent. Also a lot of people have friends from other servers that they necessarily don't want to raid with but still play with. I have this Since I transferred a toon to another server.

WoW Remote is $2.99; that gives remote access to the AH and guild chat. I imagine if this a for-fee service, the price point will be similar. That, or this will just be added to the WoW Remote service and they will change to name to WoW+.

It's that much? O.O;;

I would never pay that. Who the hell cares about your cash in WoW? MF dailies give you hundreds a day in rewards alone...

What if same-faction were free, and they allowed cross-faction grouping with across-realm 5-mans for the premium fee?

That seems a little more interesting.
