Is now live on the servers!

All able bodies are to report to Dun Morogh or Durotar* and assist in the retake of what is rightfully ours!

*Please go to your respective faction zone. While we acknowledge your enthusiasm to help, other people might not. Thank you and good luck.

PS: Below is the link to MMO-Champion concerning the event for those who cannot assist at this time.

It's totally awesome!

If any of you have a sweet screenshot, I'll attach it to the story on the front page.

Hehe sorry about taking your thunder there Xsarus. :P I got a bit excited about it and noticed that no one had posted information about it so I decided to make a thread on it.

Boy I said "it" a lot. :S

No it's good. I've been super busy so I didn't even realize it until I saw your thread.

I was too excited doing the quests IC with some guildies to remember to get screenshots. >.<

The Echo Isles thing is a huge deal for my troll warrior, who lost one of her sons to Zalazane years ago. I wasn't expecting it to come this soon, though, so it's been kind of crazy (and fun) figuring out her reactions to this sudden turn of events. Yay more things to write about for her.

If you send me a story I can post it on the news. Even better if you include pictures.

OMG abuse of admin powers.

Anyway, this seems to be US only for now, we EUers have to wait 'till tomorrow. Anybody 'done' this thing yet, btw? What is it? Level 80 quests? A raid boss? Something else? I want to know how much time doing the event is going to take me, as I'm rather busy at the moment... Still, don't want to see it go past me without joining in.

It's a pretty short event, and is only the start of the whole thing, there will be more! (alliance side at least, although I assume a similar style of event on the horde side.

It's for level 75 and up.

Pretty fun event.

I'd caution against running ahead of the "Doc" if you're doing the Gnomergon side, FYI. I died twice before I realized he was keeping me alive. Smiley: frown

Hehe, no worries.

The story I've got written up for her isn't so much a summary of the event as it is her dealing with the aftermath, so it probably isn't what you're looking for at all. But here it is, for giggles. Teal deer version: cranky old troll has a nightmare about the day's battle, wakes up, decides to go get drunk.

Not going to spoil the quest - too kewl to do so.

Warning - if you have lag issues then turn your settings to zilch for the final battle as people AOE and chat like mad during it.

Toy you get for doing first half of quest

Cloak you get for finishing it

Cloak has no stats and no quests (right now) to beef it up - not sure if it'll eventually be upgradable or if it's just a status thing - you also get the achievement called "Zalazane's Fall."

All said you're looking at maybe 15-20m work plus at 80 I was getting 13g per part of the quest line completed so around 70-80g max.

Edit: Forgot to mention - for Horde at least when you're doing the volunteer quest the bat handler will give you a lift to the recruiting area.

Edit2: Annoying little aspect of the recruitment quest - don't be to clever about how you're riding back to town as the trolls following you can get hung up on stuff and then you have to go back to town and get a replacement.

For reference, you need to be above level 70 to complete the event (i.e. my priest is 70 and can't finish it).

It's actually not an achievement as such, it's a Feat of Strength.

I believe it requires level 75.

I did the Troll one and it was great - could have sped up a few parts but overall it was done quite quickly.

The Gnome one though ....
People have found a way to bug out the retaking event - so he reset after sitting about 5 minutes outside the entrance to Gnomer and then he disappeared and was back at the staging place where he gives his speech and the timer reset to 6 minutes until the start. Grrr.....

I like that. I'll post it as a short story by you with a brief blip about it being in context of the recent quests that have been added in a day or two.

One of the things I'd love to do is feature people that frequent this forum and do creative writing/art/whatever.

I had the letter in my mailbox at level 71, and dinged 72 during these quests - I have only done part of the questline, so maybe the later ones need 75, but not to start with.

Up until you get the item that turns you into a gnome/troll for half an hour, any level can do the quests.

I hope the event is going to be going on for a while... I'm not going to be able to afford to resubscribe for another few weeks.
