Grats and all, it's very exciting (or not, well, looking forward to Criminy and Xsarus posting some Cataclysm sweetles), but can we get down to the real business now?

Of course obligatory post about cata is obligatory. If anyone wants some info please toss me a request by message. Not sure how well I will do but I will try my best.

How many sockpuppets were detected in the contest thread and how many were banned for it?

Yes that is the big question, how many socks where there? Or how many people were disqualified? A percentage of the total would be awesome, even approximately would be awesome. :P

Edit: To give proper credit to Mazra for the quotes.

I see both sides of this. Grats to the winners but I'm Partly on the shelf like most of the others here partially wishing more 'members" won because they are going to be the ones to share info with us all.

I usually lurk make some posts in rogue forums, put my 2 cents here or there, But I know had i won a key i would have made a thread to discuss changes etc and such. Since i have 6 80's (a few more on the way Thanks to me and the Gf Raf for my priest lock shammy and warrior)

Part of me is disappointed that some most of the 'winners' will never return to the site or contribute. BUT on the opposite hand i agree that random is fair so its a mixed basket.

Also I agree about how many 'Cheaters' got the boot. I only made 1 post. Since I don't have any socks and lack any motivation to cheat (There's about 5-6 Unsecured routers in my apt i could Ip hop on) Also I was semi inebriated (Read: Completely and udderly) when I posted in the thread from my Birthday bash.

Wow didn't think I was going to get a key sweet! Thanks ZAM for giving me the chance to test the beta. I'm normally more of a forum watcher hence I don't have many posts. I browse different wow forums everyday and I'll definitely be hanging and taking part in these forums!

I'm also game for posting screenies, experiences, or answer any questions people have and thanks again!

Meeeh, looks like I didn't win a Cataclysm Beta Key again. :(

Oh well, better luck next time, huh?
So, congratulations to all fifty winners, and I hope you'll enjoy your stay!

Sour Grapes!

*Punches kittens with dog faced gloves and nerdrages around the house in underwear.

I really don't do many beta's because I like to enjoy the finished product when my progress within will not be lost. I was going to make an exception if I won just because winning contests is fun.

But it's all good. At least its over and the idiocracy hordes of our bleak txt spk future can go back to typing lolpankakez on the O-boards.

Seriously not bitter though I swear. :D

It's frustrating that someone didn't think to use even 10-15 beta keys that way so that the forums could be an actual draw for new users (because what else is the site honestly good for?).

This pretty much sums up my feelings as well.

Hope the new people and onslaught on of spam was worth it.

Grats to the winners. Some things to remember when playing the beta:

1. You're there to test.

2. Post feedback often, about anything you see that could be improved.

3. Be sure to proof-read your feedback.

4. Carefully check your feedback and be sure it's actually a suggestion and not a QQ.

5. Enjoy!

This one is really important. You're there to test balance and how the game operates, not to post suggestions on how to make your class OP.

Also, keep in mind how you got the beta key; without this community, you wouldn't have had the opportunity. I know one new poster has already contacted me with how and where he should post his beta findings; it would be nice to have beta threads on the classes you guys play (in the appropriate forums) where you can post your findings (how easy leveling is, what mechanics are changing and how that will affect our gear going into Cata, etc).

Just something to think about instead of ******* around in the beta; that's what most of the regular posters here would do, had they won.

...beta is not an Alliance rendition of "The Howling" ...parts I, II, III, IV or V (and however many more Skinemax funded). Believe you/me... I'm a squeaky wheel on my quiet days about things that most people aren't prone to notice. ...and yes... once again, me typing this reminds me that I'm still not bitter... at all. I'd image a copy of the Britney Spears guy, but he actually kinda' grosses me out.[:sighing and shrugging smiley:]

***** that, I am going to go around and RP that I am pissing off every bridge I see and kill rabbits and complain that they die in one hit unless it is a sheep, which a mage takes two melee swings to kill (nerf sheep pls).

All joking aside, there is one quest I am highly interested on doing and that is the one where you punch Deathwing. Will certainly give updates where on that quest chain and how the other two NPC's tell that story. :D

Grats to all the winners and such. I'm glad at least a couple of regular posters won the key, but I definitely agree with some of the other previous posters that Zam should have set aside at least 10 or 15 keys for regular posters who entered the contest.

Once every hundred thousand years or so, when the sun doth shine and the moon doth glow, I find myself agreeing completely with Theo. This is such an occasion. The only name I recognized was Xsarus, and I wonder how much of those other names are yellow 1-post folks. And I wonder how much of those TL4K LIEK THIS N R SO GLAD THEIVE WON BETA KEYZ.

This is basically like a group of random hobos from the street coming in and stealing the birthday pie your co-worker bought for the company branch you two work in; nothing to completely freak out over, but it does leave a sour taste.

Cookie for the reference, btw.

If it's so easy, how come you're posting 43 seconds after me? And I don't even know the song. Smiley: sly

I never said it was hard; but there's room for a Tenacious D reference in every post.

#51REDACTED, Posted: Aug 02 2010 at 6:40 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) all seems a bit biased to me, said was giving away free beta keys, seems to have only gone to older memebers rahter than newbies
