Cold weather flying at 68Follow

Actually, what I'm curious about is if they'll make the actual skill (as in from the trainer) require 68 and 1k too. As I said above, I have no main on my servers where alts can fly, so if they made the skill purchasable from a trainer at 68, I'd just run to Dalaran.

No, for now they specifically wanted to avoid you doing that. Your level 80 toon on the same server and faction must buy the item, then mail it to your lower level alt.

Yes. All my alts have at least one gathering profession and want to quest(travel) as quickly as possible. Getting each their epic flyer was simply a matter of priorities.

That smarts. I transferred my main (80 Paladin) to a completely empty server character wise, but my 70 Druid and 72 Death Knight are both on different servers. My Druid being on Aerie Peak and my DK being on Dawnbringer.

I have a feeling I'll be transferring my Paladin back to Aerie Peak, buying the heirloom for my Druid, and moving right back.

Isn't there something like a 3 month cooldown on transfers?

Well, I have 5 80s already and two have epic flyers and my lvl 76 druid has epic flight form. So meh. I rather enjoy running around on the ground. More mobs to kill, more food to pick up for cooking, and really until you get to Storm Peaks, Ice Crown you don't really need a flyer to get around.

Plus I'm getting bugg-eyed having to do dailies on my 80s, so I've been playing around with my babies who are all below lvl 50.

Exactly my thoughts.

Pfffft, real alt-itis requires dedication. Personally I can't stand even going land epic speed once I got epic flight. It's worth every copper.

One reason filter said that is because he has been spending all of his saved gold on boes so he can be raid ready when he. Gets back from Iraq in september.

I wish people would stop with the "skipping over content" bs. You still have to fly to ever single quest location, you still see all the scenery, there was no reason to introduce cold weather flying in the first place. A pointless gold sink, fine, but pushing it to level 77 made no sense at all. The skipping over content argument is the weakest thing I ever heard.

Kind of mad that my DK on a new realm will still have to do it the level 77 way, and my alts on my main realm are already 80 except my 75 rogue. Whatever.

Unintentionally you may have stumbled upon a reasonable future option aswell. Why not have your level 80 be allowed to buy a tome that gives a new alt a free x levels with certain limitations. Players have been asking for it or at least pondering about possibilities. Mainly thinking about Deathknight like sollutions, but why would a tome not work (better)?

The point is that 1-80 should still be fun and challenging.

1-80 is hardly challenging, even less so when you've done it before. It is time-consuming and Blizzard is working on reducing that so more people can get to the end-game, faster.

I like it. Lots.

I would perhaps push it back to 70, not 68, but other than that, seems like a good idea.

Of course, it's a little late for my leveling druid who's now almost 76 and will probably ding 77 monday or something. Now, where did I leave my hunter ... 60? Normal flight + BoA chest + BoA shoulders should mean speedy leveling with 3.2

Will probably get my bank alt from 19 to 20 too, just so as to get him a mount he obviously doesn't need.

Getting this at 70 not 68 would actually make more sense. But I'm not gonna knock it. It'll give me more incentive to level my alts up. Northrend is a large place and as much as I love it, running on horse is tedious between quests that involve running long distances.

I just hope it only costs gold and not Emblems that some people have said it might cost as well.

Haha so true. Blew 2.5k the other day in a matter of minutes.

Thankfully I am done with BOE upgrades and can start saving up gold again. Only money I need to save now is to pay Emp back for the cloak he hooked me up with and then funding the rogue's fliers. Of course that then leads into BOE's for the rogue, leveling his professions and so on ad nauseum.

The one thing that has me heated so far is leveling tailoring for the cloak enchant.

I am NOT paying 12g per stack for Frostweave cloth, not when I need so freaking much of it.

Also, if you have to be 420 tailoring to enchant your cloak, and enchanting it causes it to become soulbound, then WHY IN THE **** does it say "Requires 400 tailoring to use" at the bottom of the enchant after you put it on a cloak? Like to meet the idiot who put that on there and slap the crap out of him.

Cool change I guess. I'm looking forward to the regular flying mount getting it's speed increased to 150% speed.

Question for all of you saying 70 makes more sense than 68.

How? You go to Northrend at 68, why make someone wait until clearing all of Howling Fjord or Borean Tundra to be able to fly through content they have done at least once already?

Seriously, 70 makes WAY LESS sense than 68.

Why was he even worried about being in green gear? Unless you were constantly showing off your epics to him, he should think his green gear is good. :D Until he hits whatever the level cap is at the time.

Since all of us is just two, I'll give you my take XD.

Levels 68-70 take absolutely no time at only 600.000 EXP required. The first landing areas are beautifully designed, at least horde-side, and IMO, specially, again for me, Howling Fjord, where there isn't that much traveling involved compared to, for instance, Dragonblight or Zul Drak, where I feel like I'm being thrown across the map all the time.

Then you reach level 70 and experience required jumps to 1.500.000 EXP. For me, it's an ideal time to cut down traveling time as the experience bar just seems neverending at times.

Anyhow, just my opinion, naught more.

I suspect some of the people who think that forgot that flying would be lowered to 60 in the next patch. Others, like LGarth, may have their own reasons. Personally I feel it doesn't hurt anything at 68, since you won't be flying anywhere of worth at that point anyway.

Hi, I'm MentalFrog. You must be new to the internet, yes? Well here's a little tip, not everyone uses the same browser. Not everyone uses the same operating system. Not everyone uses the same freaking color scheme. Know where I'm going with this? I hope so. I know it's great that we have all the colours of the rainbow. They're pretty aren't they? Yeah you're right, some are ugly. You know what else is ugly? Using a color just because it's there, I call it the filter/specialfx/lenseflare disease, it's when someone uses something simply because it's there, ie photoshop filters, special effects, lense flares, etc. Click click oooh so pretty. Uh, no. There's no good reason to colour someone's quote red, with the rare exception of quoting a blue official and even then it's not necessary. Quote original and stick to it, forget the fancy smancy formating. In fact I'm going to show you an example. I'm going to type this all up and then go all out. STOP IT!!!!111onelven KKTHX~la

I'm happy. The time with WoW was nice but I gotta go before it gets TOO frustrating.

So, for now, I "graduated" from WoW *silently hums "Les pétales du sakura"*

Leveling has been made slightly QUICKER by reducing travel times (not being made easier, I don't think that's even possible) and somehow that causes the game to be MORE frustrating? I don't understand.

Wortschmied, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this site is now dumber for having read this. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I canceled because I think everyone should have to go through all the work I did when I leveled. It makes me mad that other people have it cheaper/easier than I did. I gotta get out of here before I QQ too much and people figure out the real reason why I hate these changes. I never stopped to think that since nobody groups up pre-58, that people need a faster/easier way to get past those old lonely boring levels. I never stopped to think that this helps me if I choose to level alts, and I never stopped to think that countless versions of this pointless rant have already been rated into oblivion.

Bye folks, have fun, even though I don't want you to.

Someone way above me mentioned 5000g for epic flight. That'll be true until 3.2, when Honor Hold/Thrallmar faction rep discounts will apply to flight training. The average player will be Honored with Honor Hold/Thrallmar by the time they are eligible for epic flight; as such they will get 10% off.
As for the heirloom being transferable via mail system, I seriously hope that one of these days those of us with multiple accounts (yes we are a minority, but a growing minority) will be able to transfer such items freely between any account we are licensed to (ie linked accounts via battle.net).
