WoWReader Issues & Help (v.2009)Follow

#27 Jul 15 2009 at 3:26 AM Rating: Decent
I'm testing Windows 7 64bit, yeah I know it's early. But the only issue I've found is that it can't update itself unless I explicitly "Run as Administrator" in the compatibility options.

Quick question:

I have been running Wowreader for a while and, with the new premium feature at Wowhead, I have downloaded the Wowhead Client.

Having two of these, is it redundant or do both of them collect data for two different places?

I was going to delete Wowreader, but I wanted to ask here first.

Thanks

They collect data for each site individually so wowheads won't get data for ours and vice versa.

I'll keep them both then.

Thanks so much, Wordaen

Nevermind. I deleted it's rule from the firewall and re-added it, and now it's working fine.

Diddnt find anywhere to post my current problem with WoWReader.

Whenever i start WoWreader up it automaticly shuts itself down saying that the application has stopped working.
I have tried everything and i cant get it to work. It all started after the last patch on EU servers.

Hopeing for a responce :)

Having the same issues as the above poster, installed wowreader 3 days ago, it installed properly and worked fine apon my initial running, but after rebooting my system it no longer loads.. I only have 2 of my characters uploaded, and I imported one from wowarmory, but I would love to get wowreader working again.

Here is what I get on every attempt to launch it:

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
WowReader has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is
available.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

I run windows vista home
and here is the details from the event viewer of the instance

Fault bucket 967341493, type 5
Event Name: CLR20r3

Problem signature:
P1: wowreader.exe

I should also say that wowreader is on my C:\ drive and Wow is on my F:\ drive, but the reader is directed to the correct path.

I hope that someone can help to solve this issue and that the information I provided is useful.

EDIT
I just got it to run using the Run as Administrator option.. I still hope that this helps fix whatever is bugging it to not work by default.
END EDIT
