Helpful hints for Love achievementsFollow

To get flowers, hang around the bread and reagent vendors in TB - wear cologne since they're female.
To get pies, hang around the AV chick next to the bank in Org - again, cologne since she's female.
To get poems, hang around the cockroach vendor on bottom level of UC next to the bank - he's a guy so you've gotta wear perfume.

Be sure to bring some alcohol when you're camping the roach vendor as he's also the one that you have to kiss and throw a handful of petals at - if you have a Brewfest pony keg then drop that and be sure to shout to the city to let peeps know its up. If not and you're doing this tonight, then buy a stack of that moonglow booze from the Lunarfest merchant. You have to be drunk when you throw the flower petals.

The achievement to share the romantic picnic has to be done in DALARAN (per quest description, but that didn't stop peeps from spazzing all day that they weren't getting the achievement). You do not have to own the picnic basket - if someone is nice enough to be sitting around with one up then use theirs - after sitting there about 10 seconds you'll get credit.

Edit: You can't get the Bouquet of Roses at level 80 by going in and smacking an old world boss for it - you have to kill an xpac boss - first boss in UK seems to be the easiest and you don't need it set for heroic, meaning your group can pop in, kill, reset (he only drops one) rinse and repeat.

The bouquet is right clickable and produces the same effect as throwing a handful of pedals at someone - need to confirm if using this will give you credit for the throw pedals at [list of race/class combos] achievement.

Edit 2: Confirmed - Ebon roses wont work.

People have also been selling the black dresses on the AH - don't buy them - it doesn't count for the achievement.

Like the dress, you have to pull the candy out of the bag yourself - you can't trade it so don't buy it and don't waste time mailing it to friends/guildies/alts.

The Love Fools only last for 15 seconds (per mouse over info) so don't drop it till you're ready to use it - you can share and use other people's fools though.

You don't have to be in the castle in WG nor does your side have to have control to pity the fool there - just make sure that the location bar above your mini-map says WG and you're set.

To get a girlfriend, you get off the computer and talk to women IRL.

Oh, wait. That isn't what this thread is about? ****. Smiley: mad

I hate love and love hates me.

Honestly, I think the purple drake will be fairly rare. You can't miss a single holiday and you have to summon the will to do all the achievments for each holiday even if you are there at the time.

Yeah, I kind of agree. I don't think it will be super-omg-wow-i-can't-believe-i-saw-somebody-with-that rare, since I've seen a decent number of people with the various holiday achievement titles so far, but it won't be very common either. For every meta-achievement that is relatively easy to get (Lunar Festival), there is another one that is quite hard. The Love one is simply because there is a fair amount you have to do in 4-5 days, versus having 3 weeks (or was it 4?) to run around and say hi to elders.

Once upon a time I thought I was going to go for the drake, but that dream ended once I realized I didn't feel like visiting all the inns for the candy last halloween.

But anyway, back on topic, thanks for the helpful post.

Just wanted to add a small note to this part, regarding "Flirt With Disaster". The Horde version is in Undercity, and they do not sell any alcohol in Undercity. (who knew Tirisfal was a dry county?) The Alliance version is in Ironforge-and of course there is PLENTY of alcohol there!

Question I have yet to see any gift of adoration, seen a pledge or two, but not the actual gift. Also how do I get the picnic basket? Is it a drop from dungeons or is it dropped from the gifts?

There are "Gifts of Adoration" and "Pledges of Adoration" that you get when you do not have the "Adored" debuff. "Pledges" you get from any guard, "Gifts" you get from any non-guard 'civilian'-type NPC that happens to have the hearts over there head. For example, in Stormwind, the wine advert guy on a box as you come in to SW and the beggar behind the AH are both NPCs you can get "Gifts" from. In Ironforge, the portal trainer was who I always used.

And remember, the achievement "Nation of Adoration" requires you get "Gifts" from each city, not "Pledges". Too many people not reading this and complaining they weren't getting credit yesterday. I got it on several characters, so it works just fine if you go to the right people. :)

Picnic baskets are found inside these "Gifts" and "Pledges" of Adoration(*only* when you do not have the debuff). One of my retired hunters that I was hoping for a dress for, got 3 picnic baskets yesterday. >.<

I can answer the gift question. You have to give a love token to a civilian (no grunts, guardians or bluffwatchers will work) and you can't have the Adored status. So you get one chance an hour to get the gift of adoration.

Edit: Darn you and your fast typing, Geo!

I ran around and knocked out some of the other 'pity the fool' quests - was pleasantly surprised to discover that the arena in STV was not the gank central nightmare I figured it would be - there were two other Horde there and that was it. I noted this to my guild and one of the PvP fans stated that apparently the Allies that were camping it on the first day must have gotten bored and started ganking each other as he saw a bunch of 'em slaughtering each other - I guess after they realized that they weren't even safe from each other the appeal of camping the arena wore off pretty fast.

So how's everyone else's luck?
