Here is a link to an article that poses the premise that businesses should follow WoW's model of player growth to promote innovation in the work place. The whole experience and progressive goals aspect coupled with the ease of getting into the game are cited.

Some good press for WoW should always get mentioned.

I totally agree. This sort of thing should be published all the time! We need more positive ink in-general for ALL video games. They are not the spawn of some Underlord, but instead, the creation and collaboration of many gifted people. Sometimes, they aren't so gifted, but you get the idea.

Excellent article. Thanks much for linking to it. Though I'm not in the corporate world anymore (thank gods)it was insightful not only regarding WoW but in understanding how to motivate people and help them succeed.

I especially loved this line: "...and as a potential recruiting ground for employees who can bring this attitude and approach into the company." Can you imagine being able to put the fact that you play WoW on your resume and have your potential boss see that as a good thing?

Hehe and I suspect the author games. :)

(sigh) They forgot some sections: "Always include at least one drama queen in the team", "Blame everyone except yourself for wipes", "Ninja looting - get your goodies and quit the team", along with "Whining if your item went to someone who needs it more"

Wow! I've really not has this issue in all the time I've played WoW. I mean, minor drama queens but they never last. I always end up in a tight nit group that is like a family.
