Some problems with WoW.Follow
1. *shrugs* makes it to easy to ***** someone over with a scam and then change the name. I think you're always given the option on a server transfer to change it though... and you could always make an alt to "reserve" the name and force a change.
2. Some classes have specs that are different for PvP and PvE. Like a holy/disc priest isn't as good (though still is decent) as a shadow priest in PvP. So this prevents people from swapping specs at will which would vastly change the balance in the game.

Just because you want to change your name to "Legolas" doesn't mean that it's available.

Because the trainers have to make a living, too. DO you really want to go to a starving trainer when you level?

1. I want to change my name because some friends are getting in the game and I want to change it to a name that is more familiar to them.

1. Choose a good name, then you won't want to change it.

Of course you can't change your name at will.
Imagine people being COMPLETE pricks as they level up their toon to 60, giving them horrible reputations. With a few bucks, they get to start from scratch again, everyone not knowing the difference. At least when an A-hole transfers to another server, you don't have to deal with them anymore. ;)
It's good that talent point changes cost money, it takes gold out of the economy which reduces inflation. Also it forces you to really think about your decisions, and not to mention I think it would be silly to run to the trainer to change your talents every 10 mins if you feel like it.

Fine but then have a stupid thing that asks "are you sure you want to pick this talent". Also the being able to unlearn one talent every level but it doesn't stack would work great.
