Does anyone else find 81g to learn to ride a bit much?Follow

Can some one explain why it cost only 9g to buy a horse but 81g to learn to ride it? Maybe I'm just gripping about the money. I just got my level 40. I spent some 10g on trainning and have only 13g left. Now to me this is a crap load of gold. More then I've ever seen. Then when I get to brill to buy a horse low and behold I need a total of 90g. What's the point...

The total price of buying a mount has always been the same. Recently blizzard did swap out the cost of the mount and the training cost so that people could more affordably own multiple mounts.

100g at 40 isn't much. It is a lot if you you've been playing level by level, spending all teh cash you earn anytime you get it, and now have 100g to make at level 40. It is very little if you've been saving from the beginning of the game, seelling on the ah isntead of buying, and now have 200g at level 40.

They've always bneen 90g with the discount from Honored. It used to be 9 training and 81 for the horse. This way collectors can buy multiple mounts more easily, and you can't save 900g getting the BG epic mounts.

90G at level 40 is chicken feed. There are so many ways to make gold in WoW that the amount is trivial.

No time like the present to start concentrating on making money.

Wondroustremor's Money Making Guide

You can do it. Confidence that earning 100g is not a big deal is essential as you level higher.

I am no great moneymaker ingame by any means, I don't AH pharm, I don't buy gold, I don't pharm for gold for hours a day. I simply send all my sellable goods to my bank alt who in turn posts those goods and gears on the AH.

My warrior did mannage to buy his lvl40 mount at lvl 38 (back when the price of the mount itself was the hefty portion), in addition to a full set of lvl40 plate mail and a new lvl40 two-handed axe (before I got the whirlwind axe from the warrior quest).

Now I'm saving up for the epic mount, with a bit less saved up with only 3 lvls left to go. I'm helping a guildmate make arcanite bars for some quest he has, and I spent a large portion of my bank on arcane crystals that I intended to make into arcanite bars to sell.

The lvl40 mount is chicken feed, the epic mount is a bit more to swallow though.

Yea the AH is your friend I had my mount when I was 40 and enough left to get a scorpid armor suit on my hunter. The above guide is pretty good.

You ever been to a riding school? It's pretty accurate. We're getting a deal on the horse...

Yea I think it is a very reasonable price.. I mean your gaining the ability to travel 60% faster and in this game that is amazing since *Most* of the time you have to run.

Ok I get it. Work for my Gold and it will come. I've read the link on making money and will take a lot of it to heart. Yeah, I relise that I've been working so hard to get levels and pay for my trainning that, now, I'm missing out on some important things. Like gear. I've wondered why my level 40 mage has such a hard time when other characters several levels lower tend to go easy. I took some time to check out teammates kit. Wow. My kit sucks. So I think I'll slow down maybe play some of these instances and earn some bucks.

Thanks for the advice all.
