Question about Census After ExpansionFollow

#1 Dec 21 2006 at 1:53 AM Rating: Decent
Hello:

I am looking to get into WoW post launch of the expansion and my question is about the census of Horde players to Alliance players on most servers.

1)Does the number of Horde players vs Alliance players differ from which type a server it is?

2)Is it simply different from server to server of all types?

3)Also once the new races are released will there be a big shift in the census of Horde or Alliance players within these servers?

Thanks, just curious about the dynamics of my question. I am gonna try my hand at one Horde character and One Alliance, not sure though it I would benefit from making them in different servers though.

1. Check here.

2. Check here.

3. I know a lot of folks assume that the horde will get a boost from all the people who have never played Horde before but want to try out another 'pretty' race. I'm not so sure myself though. Anyway, only time will tell.

edit: Oh yeah , just so you know, on PvP servers you can't have both a Horde and an Alliance character. Not sure if that will influence your choice of server type or not though.

Thanks DanielNoS thats really great feedback. I assumed Humans and elves would surely be the most populous races :) But this also proved me wrong in a few of my other assumptiosn about the populous of other races and classes, good stuff. I am abit vexed that you cannot see the numbers of how many of a certaint race is F vs M just to be really indepth. Can't wait to play this!

For numbers 1 and 2, I find it odd you didn't just dig around and find this out for yourself. It sounds like you knew of the census site, and even a google could have worked. Granted, maybe you didn't, but specifically referencing something like that in a post... *shrugs*

Anyways, like DanielNoS said for 3, a lot of people do think that horde getting a "pretty race" will pull people over. People are even saying that that is one of blizz's reasons for putting in the BE on the horde. As for whether it will work or not, no one will know untill it does or doesn't. Unless of course someone here has a time machine? So, anyone with a time machine? Smiley: lol

Edit: Also, imo, it goes off much more then just a "pretty race" for the difference between alliance and horde. Horde are generally considered to be evil, so fewer people want to play the "evil" race. Not to mention that the BE are basically as evil as it gets, even with the fact they are a "pretty race" you know?

I am new to MMORPGs all together, still getting the hang of things and I asure you I was not in the least aware of such a thing existing, sorry to have ruffeled your feathers in anyway...though why this bothered you or you found it odd...*shrugs* Maybe there is a reason you are not sharing for your feeling this way? I am no mind reader. I suppose simple curiosities are a bad thing.

Makes me think of that one ytmnd I saw once with the picture of the newspaper add looking for more to go back in time.

Also makes me think of Metalocalypse, where they were putting plastic bags on their heads to time travel.

I think you got it all wrong, it didn't "ruffle my feathers" in any way, I just assumed that you would have known of it, or at least googled something. I guess you could say I may find it odd that you didn't go and search things for yourself, and maybe that bothered me some... we have a LOT of people who post things that if they took like one minute to search for themselfs or read the forum faq it would be answered. "Help those who help themself" as the saying goes.

Once again I apologize dear sir/lady for offending your senses. I have learned a valuable lesson here today from your words. I indeed in the future will prove to be more resourceful. I assure you once more as well I had no knowledge of such a site existing and felt that perhaps I would look to the hands of friendly participants of this forum to aid me if such a information did infact exist. Remember I was not even sure if such information did exist on the web or was even available for public viewing.

I will post here no further and will leave the forums open for more important and beneficial topics. Next time I shall seek my own answers. you are truly wise good Tomec. I wish you good day and Happy Holidays this season.
