I can't tell you if it is a keylogger, but, if it is, i don't think using a restore point will fix it. I've heard it mentioned several times on the forum that it won't.
Run a good anti-virus scan (McAfee, etc) and spyware scan (Windows Defender does a good job for me). If your still not sure, run the scan in safe mode (restart your computer and hit F8 when it starts booting up).

Hope this helps.

its a jpeg not a virus.

And in the future if you aren't sure, posting the unconfirmed link on a public forum is the worst thing you can do.

As TseTsou said, the link appears to be a .jpeg extension, which is a picture format (not a virus). Furthermore, it appears to be hosted by ImageShack (www.imageshack.us) which is a fairly reliable hosting service.

QFT

Also, keep in mind that it being hosted on a public image site like that would get it yanked fairly quickly if it was one. Of course, the biggest thing, is that it is VERY VERY rare for a image format file to have a virus or something in it. Normally when you see a virus or something from clicking on a link that says it is an image file it is actually a redirection to the file that does have one. Public sites like imageshack don't allow anything but image formats to uploaded, so you can't really make a redirect page from them.

Indeed. Mouse over the link and if it still says it's from imageshack and is still a .jpg, it's fine.

I can understand the paranoia. My roommate got hacked sometime in the last couple days. They even took his damn guild tabard. Smiley: motz

The good thing is that most of his gear is PvP gear(and thus not disenchantable or vendorable).

We think it was an addon he got on either Sunday or Monday that hid the trojan. Needless to say, I checked my account. I did find a couple items missing, but they were low value items on an alt(PvP gear that wasn't disenchantable or vendorable) that had disappeared during the bank bag bug and been recovered. For all I know, they've been gone since last Wednesday. I don't believe I was hacked as all my main's epics are still there(and she's a 300 enchanter) as is my gold.

I still ran 2 different Anti-Virus programs and a Anti-Spyware program to be safe, as well as changing my password to be safe, but they all came up clean(1 tracking cookie was all that was found).

You have to remember that while we have a good percentage of intelligent posters, this does not necessarily reflect on the percentage of intelligent lurkers.

Onto lurkers add the thousands of non-registered people who filter through this site and forums daily. Not just the registered people who read the forums and could post if they wanted.

That's basically what I meant. Anyone who stops by here on even a semi-regular basis, registered or not.

Did neglect to think about the one-timers though.

Which is what I was thinking of heh. Tons of people just come here once or twice a week to look up info or check for a bug or something on the forum.

By one timers, I meant the people who literally visit here one time and leave. Once or twice a weekers. Those people count as lurkers to me.

Heh, well different people and different definations... especially since I consider a lurker to be someone who is able to post (aka has an account) and just doesn't. I personally consider the non-registered people who have to view the forums either "guests" or "visitors"

In the end though, we each had the same idea eh?

try firefox

I love using Firefox. Once you have it go to Tools, Addons, Get Extensions, and search for Noscript. Using Firefox with the Noscript Addon, as well as your own good judgment is a pretty good combo. The Noscript Addon turns off all scripts on webpages by default. You can easily click a small "S" icon in the lower right to allow a trusted site.
