AB- hit the node capper (rant)Follow

#1 Dec 20 2006 at 2:21 AM Rating: Decent
So after the last 30 rounds of AB in the last 72 hours I have to rant somewhere. Here is what happens: There is a group of 5 horde sitting on top of a node, and a group of 3-x alliance come up and the fighting starts. One of the alliance decides to not fight and try to cap the node. Well instead of hitting him ONCE and prevent him from capin the node you keep fighting, don't get backup, and die cause you didn't prevent him from capping the node.

IS IT SO HARD TO HIT THEM ONCE

I'm not asking you to kill them, just 1. click them 2. hit once 3. return to owning your last target

If there is only 2 of you defending that node the sure ok I can understand, your trying hard enough as it is just to stay alive long enough for back up to get there. But 5, and come on surely one of you can take 2sec to hit him once. It will end up in your team winning becuase you get reinforcements, and theirs take longer to get there than yours. Yea ok you may die, big deal, you win the game in exchange aka more honor. So suck it up and hit them once...

I found out last night that simply damaging your opponent isnt always best. I saw an Orc try to cap the flag we had well defended, so I wander up and start laying Corruption, Curse of Agony and finally Immolate on him, but somewhere between Curse of Agony and Immolate, he capped the flag! I felt pretty stupid..

We still won though, if that matters..

DoTs do not interrupt flag tagging. DoT AoEs do not interrupt only Direct damage does.

Rain of Fire, Hellfire, Consecration, Blizzard, Immolate, Curse of Agony, Corruption, SW: Pain, Mind Flay does not interrupt.

Instant damage of Moonfire does interrupt it but the DoT of Moonfire does not.

EDIT: Must learn to quote...

Consecration seems to interrupt on its initial cast but then no longer continues to do so for the dot.

However, i agree sometimes the simplest things can be annoying in AB, i can't count the times i've screamed at people for being lured away from the flag and fighting 80 yards away for no good reason.

I agree 100% on this because I do it. Me the Hunter and a Stealthy Rogue, I go in and agro all the Defenders, the Rogue unstealths and Assults the Flag (vanishes), I hopefully kill one (of the 2-3 general guarding a node) before I die and the Rogue can normaly sap, hit and run the remaing defenders until back up gets there.

Hellfire does interrupt, thanks for the heads up. And also Flamestrike interrupts at cast only as far as I know.

And yes Consecration does interrupt at initial cast.

Initial damage interrupts, if the spell has a DoT effect, it does not keep interrupting.

I could have sworn that Blizzard would continue to interrupt as it is not a DoT but constant damage.

Hey stop trying to make the horde smarter, already have a hard time winning AB as alliance (whole different rant). I love to sneak in as a druid and cap while everyone off fighting.
