Snowballs nerfed in AVFollow

#1 Dec 19 2006 at 10:20 AM Rating: Decent
Blizzard patched in a fix for snowballs being used to grief in AV. I enjoyed using them against the horde but could see this coming, once again a bunch of snot nosed rump rangers ruin things for others. Blizzard should have made it so using the snowballs against your side flagged you to your team, that would have been fun.

If you read the o boards at all then yea you knew this was coming.

But it had to be done, cause like you said, there will always be the guy looking to grief someone and its more fun if the person they grief cant PK them.

Agreed. It was a welcome bit of flavor in the BG, now it's been ruined. Oh well, maybe next year they can get it right.

WOOOHOO - standing defending a graveyard atop the hill, only to have some "fellow" alliance toeragg hit you with one, sending you flying to your doom - wears a bit thin after awhile.

I would rather that they turned on a flag that would allow you to kill someone who threw a snowball at you. Then I could get revenge...

Well, once I saw this was possible and actually happened - I didn't go to any more AV's. I suppose I can go now then. It was pretty damn overpowered and far from funny when you're the one who got hit.

I never griefed any one or have been griefed this way but I saw this, a movie made by an undead priest on my battlegroup. And while I do think that it's so evil to behave that way, this prenerf movie is also pretty funny.

It's not funny if you're trying to cap SP as horde, then some ghey warlock comes and snowballs me into the graveyard and die instantly to the horde of alliance there.
So good thing blizzard nerfed it.

Edit: Grammatical problems.

It was a royal PITA trying to heal while someone is knocking you into the middle of the enemy.

well the problem is you didn't find a good use for the snowballs!! The best thing to do was send people that were afk back through the portal to be met with a nice 15 min deserter!

eh the people throwing snowballs at afkers are doing as much good for the battle as the afkers are...none. They might as well be afking in the cave with them.

Get a grip and try to see the fun side. AVs are not what they used to be, a win hardly ever counts, noone had problems with token since you'll have many rotting in your mailbox soon anyway. Win or lose all AVs I joined postpatch ended with 200+ honor on both sides.

This was something for only several days and if you can't tolerate getting knocked by a snowball once or twice or hell make it 10 times in an AV for a couple of days out of whole year, I do wonder how you're coping with playing on a pvp server or getting steamrolled by premades and graveyard camped by evil ones in AB and WSG.

This is just a game and if someone was giving me a poke with snowballs I would just do the same to him. Try to have some fun.

Yes it is a game and guess what, it's supposed to be fun. Having some asshats ***** the entire battle up because they're too juvenile to stop throing a snowball for ten seconds is not fun. Not everyone lives on the game and has hours upon hours to spend in the BGs so when they go in they prefer to win.

You mean they removed the knockback effect entirely?!

Not even on enemy targets?

HOLY CRAP, I guess I'll just have to join AV for the lag then! Hahahaa... Smiley: lol

Smiley: disappointed

Double-post so I can see my first post (which needs to be edited).

Nice server lag too.

knockback is still there, they just cannot be used on friendly targets anymore. this seems to be the way it should have been from the start as far as I'm concerned.

Oh, as long as the knockback still works on enemies I'm happy.

I love throwing Hordies off the bridge. Heehee.

Well considering you can only throw 1 every 30 seconds, they have to stop for more than ten seconds. :)
