I have a powerpc dual 2.3 Ghz G5, 1 gig memory, w/ ATI Radeon 9650, 256 MB

This week at a family reunion one of my cousins asked what I played online for games, which is mostly FFXI on my 360. He said he played WoW and got me all hyped up. Told me about their guild, who was all in it (friends and co-workers, know each other in real life), age range 18+. Told me they play on a PvP server and it's the only way to go with him citing "ganking" is fun. All of them would help me, teach me the in's and out's, take me on instances... it's time for change... especially when he said he only plays about 2 hours max a night if that.

So I'm hoping the mac version is decent? I only own a mac (graphic designer).

Will the Power PC version still be supported when boot camp version is released for intel chip?

I run WoW on a similar machine, and it runs beautifully. You'll be more than fine.

I also came from a few years of FFXI, and absolutely love WoW. FFXI will always hold a special place, but after having now played both for over a year it is my opinion that WoW is a superior game. It has as much depth as FFXI (some may disagree), but it is much kinder to the player in that there is less grinding for absurdly rare drops, no forced grouping (though there are LOTS of fun things to do in a group), and the play mechanics are much faster and more engaging.

I play on a PvP server personally, and find that having to constantly watch my back adds a unique level of excitement to the leveling process. Also, as your friend said, killing horde out in the open world is incredibly fun (I'm almost level 60 in my second toon and it still gets my heart racing).

Long story short, I think your life could use a little WoW. Come join us!

It will play very nicely on your Mac.

Blizzard has stated that they have no plans to cut PPC support.
