Christmas Hats?Follow

#1 Dec 16 2006 at 3:19 AM Rating: Decent
I forget, where do you get them from?
#2 Dec 16 2006 at 5:19 AM Rating: Decent
Do you mean being changed over to a little elf, in a santa-like suit? If so there is an engineering machine, like the teleporter ones, outside of IF that did this

if you are horde, you are a terrble person and I cannot help you...

j/k ;)

From what I've read here and other sites, it is a totally random drop from just about anywhere in Azeroth. Though it does seem to only drop from humanoid-ish type mobs, from the lists I've seen. I think the only 100% drop is in Scholo or somewhere like that.
Green Winter Hat and Red Winter Hat

red winter hat drops from cannonmaster in living strat. ive killed him twice and he dropped it both times. It also drops from emperor in brd. also, it has dropped twice out of 2 kills.

I have yet to see a green one drop but ive been told that gandling in scholo, and the baron in UD strat drop it.

We went to Strat Scarlet for orbs last night and Cannonmaster was wearing a red winter hat during the fight and he dropped it after the fight. I heard that LBRS bosses and Gandling etc also drops it if they wear it during the fight. And yes only one hat which is BoP.

Is it a BoP white or BoP Green? It shows up as white on allah, but the Scarlet Tabard was also white (bop) until either this patch or the one previous and it's now green.

It is a BoP green that everyone can roll on.

Boss mobs that drop it will be wearing the hat.

I got mine off Anvilcrack in UBRS... we noticed he was wearing a green hat when we pulled him.

Been in strat a couple of times this weekend. Cannon Master Willey wears and drops it every time. Baron doesn't drop it (nor does any other mob/boss in the instance).

It's also a world drop, but with a very tiny chance. Your best chance is to farm the bosses.

From what I’ve read, there are at least two instance bosses that drop green hats and two that drop red hats. And they will be wearing said hats. I think that’s rather funny. *smiles*

In the rest of the world it’s a random drop. I’ve seen it quoted as a 2% chance of dropping, but I have no idea if that’s correct or not. I had a green one drop this weekend off a level 6 kobold in Goldshire. Naturally I wanted a red one, but I’m just happy to have gotten one at all. I really want one for my dwarven priest. I may have to take him out and farm low level mobs and hope for the best. I’d love to be able to dress him up for the holidays.

I was very amused the other day (along w/ my party). We did a run of Scholo. The final boss, can't remember his name, was literally wearing a bright green santa hat. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen. After tearing him a new one the hat dropped. I lost the roll sadly, but I have plans to run Scholo again, hopefully I get it this time :D

I have a ss of it also, will upload later tonight.

I love blizz and other devs that make holiday-esque things.

Minus the snowballs. See other thread.

In Maraudon, the first boss mob in the purple side dropped the green hat last night for my group. The named demon.

Didn't get one at all last year... this year I'm bouncing around in Ashenvale just doing some low levels quests for rep and bam! Red Santa Hat drops from a level 10 Furbolg. My wife is pretty mad at my luck, hehe.

So far we know the following mobs can drop hats:
Kobolds, assuming their candles haven’t set them on fire
Ghosts
Skeletons
I would assume humans can drop them

I don’t mind spending some time killing low level mobs hoping for a hat drop. But I will only do so if I can find a good spot where I can go into a murderous rampage without taking mobs away from low level characters trying to level. From the sounds of it all humanoid mobs have a chance of dropping a hat. I just wonder if this extends to mobs like yeti and worgen.

This year I've seen green drop from Anvilcrack in UBRS and Gandling in Scholo. Last year I saw red drop from Voone in LBRS.

Oh I would absolutely love to see Rags wearing a Santa hat, provided you're not pulling our legs. ;)

I'd suggest the Kobold infested mine in Elwen Forrest, they respawn really fast there.

Anyone seen any in any low leveled dungeons?

My boyfriend saw one drop off of a Blackrock orc in Redridge - he didn't get it though. :P

I ran through RFC tonight and killed everything without seeing one.
