Where should I farm for gold?Follow

#1 Dec 14 2006 at 7:42 PM Rating: Decent
Not really sure where to post this since I am new. Anyways, my level 60 warlock on alliance is very poor, I've never really farmed before. Now I need money for mats, for my level 60 mount quest (and other things). Could someone tell me where a good spot is to farm/grind for gold and items at level 60. Solo of course, don't want to do instances and that stuff.

I would recommend to look at the guidies, but helping you directly might be more helpful.

I suggest to farm Tyr's with a buddy, its great fun! I got 3 blues that sold for about 70-100g, which I sold to afford some nice things like my TuF, and loaning some to my friends.

Well this post has been answered numerous times.

I will run through a few places for you.

First off, scarlet monestary - You should be able to run cath solo and each trip will net you quite a bit of gold, and some chances at some good blue BoE items.

Next, try farming a rep - winterspring furbolgs and argent dawn rep come to mind as easy ones to choose. Each of these places have good chances to drop good items as well a steady drop of runecloth. Which sells well on just about every server. And dont forget those grey weapons that drop from these people, they generally sell for over 1 gold a piece.

Then there is general farming, pick a spot you like going. I personally enjoy killing the naga's in aszhara. There is a pretty good chance of golden pearls dropping from the clams they drop. And Who doesnt love killing a naga?

People also say that farm jadenar in felwood is good. I dont know never go there. All of felwood is a good spot to farm in my eyes, they all drop good stuff and should be easy for you to take down just about everything there alone.

I hope that helps.

Take a trip down to the un goro crater. There you can find un goro soil that sells for quite a bit on the AH. I got 10 gold for a stack of 99.

While you are farming, don't forget about gathering. Either herbalism or alchemy are real moneymakers for a level 60. You could easily level one of them to 300 in a couple of days. Sell all the gathered items on the AH. I love it when as I am farming furbolgs for rep a nice thorium vein will respawn at the furbolg camp. Gathering Icecap in Winterspring is great if you are an herbalist, and Burning Steps is super for mining if you can get there when most other players are not on. There are lots of opportunities to make money with gathering, and I haven't even mentioned fishing yet. Good luck. You can make money if you put a little effort into it.

Killing for Timbermaw faction + getting all all the runecloths get my vote. I have over 1k runecloth which I plan on either turning it into bandages or sale them. If you have mining as a skill then its even better, there are 2 or 3 thorium vein near the Furlbog also.

Why do people favour the approach of "go for uber valuable item that drops less often than Halley's Comet pays us a visit" anyway? I've tried that, the time vs. gain ratio is no good. You can do much better going for a medium value item that drops steadily.

As our goblin friends always tell us "Time is money friend!"

I have a 60 lock that is my cash machine for my 60 priest.

Eastern plaguelands. Farm for rep there and mobs drop some decent items and 5-12 silver per kill.

Jadenar in aszhara, there are two place to get these. Also the elite dragonkin are good loot sources and thecasters drop 25 silver each and are very fast kills for a 60 lock.

Scarlet monestary go with empty bags and just run through the place until your bags are filled with green items. Takes about 90 minutes.

Winterspring there are 5 different places to farm for gold. Stick to humanoids.

Time is money, indeed. Here is an example:

Just a few days ago I found out that reputation gained had changed and I could go back with my 60 druid and do the quests I missed out on as a youth and get full rep. So I started out on Wednesday, with about 25 gold on my druid. I did lowbie quest after lowbie quest, searching for anything I may have missed along the way. Any elite quests in Silverpine or Stonetalon, etc. Anything! I started out also at roughly 2k into Revered. By yesterday morning I hit exalted and also had made well over 100g. And that is picking up everything from every mob I killed(yep, all those little coppers do add up!) and selling absolutely nothing on the auction house. I was worried that I may not have enough money to buy the epic wolf once I hit exalted, but the money just rolled in as I did quest after quest.

Now, granted, at 60 I do get a bit more for the quest when it is a coin reward, but at the lower levels the difference didn't seem like much(I wasn't getting gold for any lowbie quests, that's for sure!)

So gaining money at any level *can* be done, easily. And money can be made just about *anywhere*!! It just takes time. =)
