Hello:

I am a girl gamer and I was introduced to MMORPGs via my boyfriend about 4 years ago. We have since played all MMORPGs we both hold interest in together and could be shared between the PC and a console, or two consoles. I am looking to give WoW a go and am just dying to try it out, but I would be doing so alone as we are not going to by another PC just so he and I can play together.

I am wondering will WoW ever come to any of the newer consoles? Does anyone know if their has ever been talks of this before? Us not being able to try WoW together will not stop me from trying it, but I would love us to be able to experience it together. Thanks in advance.

Never heard anything about WoW on a console. It's an interesting idea though.

If WoW ever does come to console (doubtful) then I hope they keep seperate servers for PC and Console players.

I think its ridiculous that you point out you're a girl game right off the bat. No it will not come out on any of the current consoles.

There's nothing wrong with girl gamers (Im one).

Just to add to the topic a bit, this has been swirling around for a long time, and i think the overall answer is no.
It could be possible, and WoW would benefit from this if they did.

But honestly, You should just fork out the extra $$ get a second computer and play with your boyfriend. If it wasnt for my boyfriend i never would have touched this game.

And this is the best thing going for MMORPG's. So honestly if there is a way you need to get a second computer and get addicted like the rest of us.

I hope WoW never comes out on the console. That is one way Blizzard could really ensure the game never evolves. Consoles are limited much more than PCs, since it is assumed most PC gamers can/will gradually upgrade their PCs they can continue to play WoW no matter what Blizzard brings into the game. Consoles however you cant upgrade and I imagine reworking the game to run on different consoles as they age and die out would be none too fun and would occupy time that could be spent on improving the game. Look at FFXI, that game is severely limited by the very aged PS2, that game could be very different if they didnt have to ensure it can still run on that console.

No MMO ever _really_ revamps its graphical system completely. It's not that big of an issue, honestly.

I can see WoW coming out for the X-Box 360, honestly, and I've heard about a deal in the works from a few people I know who work in the industry... no idea if it'll ever happen, but it's a fairly good fit from what I've seen.

While I can see your points within your post, let me remind you that FF-XI is not truly limited graphically because of the PS2. The game was originally PC only, and was only a year later on PS2 along with Sony's PS2 HD ploy. Despite what sony had originally claimed about the HD, no other games ever used it that I can recall. (GJ Sony)

Also the old PS2 modles are gone, unless you buy one second-hand somewhere.
FF-XI is not in the least playable on the new PS2 modules. It is playable on the 360 which is more than capable of running it's graphics. If it never happens that Wow should come to a console no one will loose sleep over it, and I guess I will have to get another PC so we can play together if that is what we really want. Thanks for all the replies everyone.

Actually FFXI is a PS2 game ported to PC. The Japanese were playing on PS2 before you were playing on PC. :p

WoW won't be goin to consoles anytime soon. It's doing well enough on PC that it's probably not really worth the trouble of porting it.

Edit: I really should read whole threads before replying to posts, above post says same thing I said about FFXI was made on PS2 first, then ported to PC.
