Horde Warrior: Orc or Tauren?Follow

#1 Dec 13 2006 at 9:08 AM Rating: Decent
Changed my mind about being a druid. I think the warrior will suit me better. So my question is, Orc or Tauren?

both are nice, but i went with tauren for the war stomp (great in groups or vs casters) and for the other racial bonus of +sta boost.

Whichever one looks the best to you or whichever one has the racial abilities you like best.

I can't really choose between Orc or Tauran because I think Trolls are the best looking. :D

Tanking warrior? Tauren. DPS warrior? Orc. This is of course your PRIMARY roll you might want to play as a warrior, as even tanks have to dps occasionally just as dpsers have to tank. That being said, it doesn't really matter in the long run.

the bottom line is play what you like. the racial bonus does help in MY choice as to the class i play with what race.

dwarf for pally/war/priest for their immune to fear
gnome for rogue for their get out of trap free move (get away from any movement restricting effect)
undead any melee class for canni... great ability to regen HP supper fast.
tauren for any class as war stomp + bonus to STA are always nice, but they are better suited for melee vs casting as they lack INT, but then so do all current horde races.

so play with it, have fun, but warriors are a great class to play except when you get in a group with idiots who have no clue what they are doing and make your job impossible, then it just gets frustraiting.

Its a bit of a toss up, because both make good warriors. Taurens get warstomp and 5% more HP. Orcs get 15% stun resist and bonus to axes. If you can't choose between those benefits, flip a coin :)

Something else to consider is the size of the character. I have a Tauren warrior, and when you get in among a bunch of mobs, for me at least, it gets harder to see them to target them. Just a thought ...

Having recently run through both starting areas, I suggest you might want to consider if the early quests give you any advantages. To me, it seemed that the quests in the Orc/Troll area were better -- if you won't be getting gear from friends/guild/alts. For example, I found it to be handy to be able to grab a 4 slot bag on the way up and I hear the glue you get is useful in PvP.

Quests aside, it is a convenient hop over to the Undercity to get your training in swords if you feel like doing that, and I find it is easier for an Orc/Troll to get to Crossroads and some of the Barrens' lower level mobs. These are all small points, but if everything else is balanced and you don't feel like using a coin toss ....
