On stormrage, I have only seen queues as high as 89-90 people.
I can only imagine how MAD i would be to see one of 600+ people. I think blizzard needs to take the servers that have this problem, and just completely block them.

No if ands or buts about it. Block them, and get their numbers DOWN wayyyy down. It really frustrated me the other day when i was helping a friend open an account, and the recommended server was guess what? Stormrage.

Do they honestly give a server based on your location? Or was it just a lucky pull? Im honestly convinced that it was chosen on location.

I have found that having an alt on a server that is in a different time zone can be quite nice when the server I usually play on is crowded. Having people to group with is nice at times but I don't like the idea of waiting 20-30 minutes just to play at all.

I was thinking about the sudden influx and am wondering if it could have something to do with the season (at least here in the Northern Hemisphere) and people being indoors more because of the winter weather and because it gets dark so much earlier. I am guessing that once school breaks start happening (if they haven't already) that things will get really bad as far as queues and crowds go.

Its most likely the fact that people are indoors more, and the fact that the expansion is coming out soon, so people are getting themselves back into the game more.

yes server loads are seasonal without a doubt. summer being traditionally the worst for high server loads as all of the kids are out of school, yes kids including those in college not just primary grades too.

I've been playing for a year, and I never knew this queue problem existed. My server has NEVER had a queue, unless it has had one when I wasn't there... and I play almost every day.

I know the OP doesnt' want to switch... but geez, I wouldn't put up with waiting in a queue to play for any more than 1 or 2 mintues, max. I really suggest people who get stuck in queues have a serious series of discussions with their guildmates about switching to a lower populated server.

The money spent switching HAS to be worth the saving of tedium and aggravation.

That's not as bad as it could be.

Two days back, I was in the middle of a two hour AV game and am main-healing in Drek'Thar (I am the only priest and had, as said above, spent 2 hours trying to get there), but of course I get DC'd when he is at about 25%.... Great I think, I'll just log back in before anything happens too bad. After all, we have some druids set in place to back up heal. So I log back in and pow, 250 person queue. I growl with frustration as I minimize to go browse the internet. When I finally do get back in some 15-20 minutes later, I find my two hours were in vain as I have no new AV mark (which sucks cause this morning I'm one AV mark shy of my new gloves.... GJ Blizz).

Last night, however, I was trying to RP with a friend and got disconnected and put in 200+ person queues each time. By the time I finally get on, she of course needs to get off now, so that was also quite annoying.

Queues suck. Having to go through them every hour is much worst though, I assure you.
