I got a guru rating by contributing lots of things (like area descriptions and quest explanations) to Allakhazam, something you obviously have either failed to do or failed to get noticed. No need to be envious. Try using some of the time you set aside for flaming to contribute to the website that so graciously allows you to hand out rate-downs.

And the gryphon-controlling glitch was a known glitch earlier in the year. You can still see it, I think. Sometimes people land on their gryphs and retain the ability to "fly" around on it, though only at ground level. It's not really flight, as the moment you land you're "grounded" and the game merely lags in terms of removing changing your character model from mounted to unmounted. But thank you using my acknowledgement of a rumor existing to judge my character.

I wasn't judguing your character. I was judging the character of people who gave you rate-ups for posts that obviously don't deserve rate-ups. If you want, I can post other examples of "excellent" posts made by you.

edit: It's not just you. I've made posts that I would have rated down and found out they were rated "good" and others that were both on topic and informative that are at "default". It's not the posters... it's the raters.

But I wonder, what WOULD you like to see and do when you hit 70, instead of just jelling the current content ain't interesting?

Personally, I’d like to see more role-play content. That is to say, more content to develop other aspect of my character than just his armor and weapons. Player housing is a good example. In UO we could decorate our home both on the inside and out. We could do so with player made items, such as furniture and candlesticks holders, or with looted items such as paintings. In Horizons we could buy specific plots of land, usually laid out in a town format, and place different building on them. The size and number of buildings depended on the size of the plot. And then we would have to build those building, such as homes, guild halls and crafting stations, via various craft skills. Each building took an enormous amount of work. The folks at Blizzard are an imaginative lot. I’m sure they could come up with something in that area that would give us a goal to work towards and be rewarding once we achieved it. And since any such areas could be instanced, the existing landscape would not be impacted.

Housing is just one example of content Blizzard could add to the game that would not involve raiding or PvP. But as I said before, this does not seem to be the direction Blizzard wishes to take. Their target audience seems to be raiders and PvP enthusiasts. That, of course, is their choice. I’ll simply play the game for as long as its fun for me. But I can say one thing for certain; I would play this game much much longer if Blizzard added more role-play content. And I expect others would as well.

Who are you to question wether or not he deserves his Guru status?

Oh wait, I nearly forgot: your FAQ was stickied, which clearly certifies you to critique everybody's comments in an attempt to maintin only the highest quality posts here on Allakhazam. Silly me!

In my initial push to 60 I missed a lot of content. As many have said, upon reaching 60, goals become so vague that sometimes you feel disoriented and it stops being fun. I've enjoyed creating alts and taking the time to experience quests that had been overlooked, instances which I had no idea existed and twinking to some extent.

Luckily for me there are many things I enjoy from WoW to keep me going for a long time.

I never played UO, but now I want a house. Someplace nicer than my bank to drop ol' Rhok and Lhok when they get replaced by some random green or blue at level 62. Sounds fun.

I'm actually disappointed in your glib remark, Mike. Reinjin is known for several very well-written in-context RP stories, and got rated up for them accordingly. He put effort and thought into them, and a quick search under his name showed me that they were the majority of his posts that were rated up (4.90 or better, and IMHO very much earned). I've read them and I remember rating them up as well when I had, because I was rather impressed that someone would have the creativeness to type something up, do it in the context of the surroundings without too many continuity or geographical errors, and have the temerity to post them on an internet forum, where people tend to be quick to trash things that they see as "uncool".

Usually you have good reason to be the forum curmudgeon, but don't think this is one of those times.

Thanks for the input, all. Regardless, though, I've frozen my account 'til I can get my paws on the expansion. I've already levelled so many characters up (the ones in my sig are only on my main server, Shadow Council...I have two 60s, a mid-40s, and a scattering of 20s on Darkspear and Kirin Tor) that forcing myself through it one more time will destroy what little sanity I retain. It'll be hard enough guiding a Blood Elf Paladin through the Barrens one more time.

Still, the expansion is only about a month away. Shouldn't be too hard to wait. I have yet to beat Warcraft I anyway. Better get cracking on this great game, the origin of Warcraft...nay, of Blizzard! What great lore awaits?

Terrible Narrator: IN THE AGE OF CHAOS TWO FACTIONS BATTLE FOR DOMINANCE.

To the person who decided to go on a rate-down frenzy, it would be nice to hear how any of these posters have in some way not responded in an insightful way to Reinjin. (Aside from the obvious outburst a couple posts ago).

Fixing what I can.

I thought it was "Need more lumber."

"More lumber is required."

BTW, anyone else ever spend an entire campaign and completely clearcut Azeroth?

Go relisten to the intro and then specifically the last 6 words the narrator mentions. Coincidence? ;)

But if you think that's the start of Blizzard, then you never played BlackThorne. And before they made other games under a different name.
