Yes, I tried. I really did. ;)

PS: That was the first time I saw that dragon in Duskwood. Beautiful.

I'm a mage.

That means I'm hardwired to either nuke a mob to tiny, little, smouldering pieces....or sheep it. And then nuke it to tiny, little, smouldering pieces.

Next time I'll show that ******* the power of my rank 4 Frostbolt. That'll teach him to make me soil my pretty robe.

I did!

Came back the next day with a lvl 28 Paladin and a lvl 30 Gnome Warlock.

The dragon apparently got scared and hid somewhere, we couldn't find him anymore.

Good for him.

Is it Moonglade (probably not) or Ashenvale?

Moonglade dragon is 40men raid summoned for quest in opening AQ gates chain.

Ashenvale dragon is 40men world raid boss. The world bosses are usually quickly killed by some raiding guild, maybe that's the reason you haven't find him.

I can remember times when I played like this. Gone after Somnus (dragon in Swamp of Sorrows) with few friends on 50ish levels only to be terribly massacred, but we had loads of fun.

It is Lethon, I found him in the Twilight Grove in Duskwood. Ages ago I read somewhere that sometimes a great dragon could be found there, but until yesterday I've never seen him during my occasional visits to the grove.

AFAIK he's considered one of the most difficult encounters in WoW, or at least it had been that way when I last checked on him on various sites.

Ah Duskwood, forgot 'bout that place, as Horde I rarely get there. Haven't fought him yet, cause world bosses are killed fast at least at my server. Sounds like funny fight tho.

There are more large dragons like him, one in Ashenvale, one in the Hinterlands and one in Azshara iirc.

Negative Goose. He isn't much harder than most the bosses in MC, maybe BWL. Fun fight though.

there are 4 of those dragons that spawn in 4 different locations in the world (hinterlands, duskwood, feralas and ashenvale). by today's standards (aq40 and naxx cleared), they aren't that hard, although i think lethon is the hardest. he has a very annoying aoe shadow bolt volley. but with a good mt, it's not a prob. when they were released they were quite hard.

the dragons are on a 1-5 day respawn timer, but endgame guilds normally kill them within a day. they drop epic nr gear which is useful for aq40.

As a mage, you should be hardwired to READ :-)
You can sheep only humanoids, beasts and critters, and unless that dragon is flagged as "critter" or "beast", I don't think you gonna sheep it. But, hey, feel free to try as many times as you want.

He's rough but not too bad once your tank has mastered turning him to avoid his directional shadowbolts. (Whee! Whirly whirly!) He's one of the harder Green Dragons though... Emeriss is the hardest though, at least on a PvP server where a few random Alliance/Horde running in and wiping will spawn those damn mushrooms and destroy your raid.

But yeah, good luck sheeping him. =p

The Moonglade Dragon (Erankius) is... well, impressive as hell, but he doesn't sit around like that. He actively attacks and flys around, then lands and owns the hell out of the Moonglade NPCs... until Tyrande comes. That's a wicked fight/quest series.

Whisper some high end guild and you get nice gold for the scoop, the respawn timers are random in a week but they all spawn at rougly the same time. And staking out alts on spawn locations is a bannable offense. There is nice gold to be made by telling 1 guild and making sure they get at least 1 kill. Not for the least for the dreamscales.
On my server it was always a fun race, people jumping out of raid intances and racing to spots. Although its a PvP server people are sportive, waiting patiently for another guild to wipe or kill without ganking.
(Knowing that if they start ganking they dont have a chance at all themselves.)

Although he is one of the harder dragons he isnt that hard. He can be downed with 25 people who know what theyre doing, like all dragons.
