trying to get to dead minesFollow

I've heard best is to take zeppelin from Orgrimmar to Grom'Gol (STV) and jump from it immediately after zoning. It should be quite short swimming into Westlands. Never tried it myself tho.
You can try run along the beach of STV to north and swim from there but that will be long and painfull on levels where Deadmines loot is usefull.

You can do as the previous people have mentioned...but be warned. Monsters in the water will probably aggro you and you may die a few times on the way. I've tried to help a friend get there, but because of the significant difference in level of my firend and the monsters, he died many many times. If you choose to take this way, I suggest having a higher level travel with you so that you can make it there in a shorted amount of time.

it might be an idea to run naked too..

so your gear doesnt break from death before you enter. it would be a ******* to go all that way for you stuff to break before you enter and have to go back
