Ok folks,
It has been very obvious that blizzard does not like for the horde and the alliance to communicate through chat, tell etc. But I'm curious if this is possible. I've tried to see if perhaps I con communicate with horde players via a custom emote. It's obvious that horde players understand /bow, /salute etc. But as soon as I try a custom emote such as /em thanks <horde player> for his help. I don't know if the player understands me.

As you can tell, one of the reasons I'm asking this is because I've received a lot of help from horde members (a lot more than alliance to be honest) and I'd like to be able to say thanks in my own way, or even chat for a bit. But it stinks that I don't know if the horde understands custom emotes or not. I can see where /say and /tell was cancelled out, due basically to PvP and Battlegrounds. I'm sure neither group would want traitors delivering information to the enemy if both sides can actually understand each other. But I don't even know if custom emotes are OK.

I really wish they hadn't taken that functionality away... It would save me so much trouble... And likely cause me ten times as much.
