Just wondering. I'm not letting myself download the 2.0 patch until after finals are done, so I don't bomb them horribly. I've heard that there are no more DKs and it's basically pvp paradise now...

Gah, must get back to studying...

We probably would if the dang BGs weren't down all night.

Working on it on my rogue. Unfortunately my pvp skills are REALLY lacking, and the BGs have severe lag. In my battlegroup, there were about 130 ABs up. Horde waiting times were less than 1 secound ;)

I am going for the epic main hand blade, 250/22500 Honor, 8/20 AB tokens currently.

(I only did 2 ABs yesterday, due to the server crashing)

Also, at least on the 30-39 bracket, either we had some damn TWINKS(And now I really mean it. I know every game has people with good gear but DAMN) on Alliance side since they actually started to work for their wins.

And since neither, my Shaman nor Druid are at 60, I probably won't bother with HWL/GM weapons, and just get something better from BC. :P

GM weapon? I think my account would be banned if I got one.
er...
Grand Marshal?
Perhaps you meant the rank 14 weapon which for the Horde would have been High Warlord...

Come on, you know that WoW was made for the Alliance. The Horde are just the red-haired stepchild of this game.

That's why I play Horde--to add color to the game for the legions of Alliance players! And believe me, I do, but it is mostly the red blood of the Alliance vermin.

I went to a hockey game last night, so no. ;) But PvP is constant and it is awesome. There are issues awarding the honor currency late, but no points have been lost yet so it's a better rollout than previous PvP patches.

I've run 2 WSGs and 8 ABs, all were wins except one loss 2000-1900 in AB, and I have 4,300 honor. 35,000 will take about a week of semi-casual play.

And yet there are people complaining on the oboards that the items are STILL out of their reach. . . I guess some people just want to click a button to get their gear, but in that case I'd strongly suggest the FPS genre where you can do just that.

Well, O-boards people complain all the damn time. That won't ever change...

Four more days and I can play... just hope I'm not too far behind >_>

The people complaining are either:
1. Referring to the bugged honor that existed on Tuesday, causing it to display your honor earned as your highest rank rather than actual honor
2. Supremely lazy and failing to see that this new grind for guaranteed epics is unbelievably easy for the reward you get.

As an aside, I'm loving that they changed the forums to now display Highest Lifetime Rank; it makes it much easier to ignore the QQing of the senior sergeants wanting full R13/R14 gear RIGHT NOW!

I got ~13k honor yesterday and I didn't PvP very hardcore at all (5ish hours? No raid meant I had free time and such). That's halfway to a HWL 1H weapon.

Yeah, it's far too difficult clearly...

Thats insane, why raid when you can pvp, have fun, spec like you want, and get all the good items.
#16 Dec 07 2006 at 1:20 PM Rating: Decent
Because HWL gear is better than Tier 2 but not Naxx gear. =p

If you aren't at least up to Nefarian though there's very little point now, at least from a pure gear standpoint... just seeing the encounters is fun, though.

Well raiding is fun in it's own aspect. (for some people at least, I know I enjoy it. ^^)

But aside from the weapons, if I had to label the armor, I'd call it tier 1.5.

Some pieces are as good as MC gear, some are a little better...
And the weapons are like AQ40 quality in most cases, so I'm totally down for that.

As for it being too easy or too hard, I think it's just about right.
It's not so difficult to be unaccessable to most people, but it's not easy enough to do 2 BG's and be done with it.
The perfect balance between a mindless grind and having fun. Smiley: lol

3 days in and I have about 5k honor, but I digress, I must get back to mutilating some hordies. Smiley: sly

The armor depends on class and spec.

For hybrids/healers who want a damage spec, it's far better than their tier sets (i.e. ret paladins, feral druids, etc).

For mages the pvp gear blows Netherwind out of the water... it's not even close.

For warlocks it's like you said, slightly worse than Tier 2 (worth wearing two pieces of it for the +20 stamina bonus though).

Really I'd recommend anyone who is semi-serious about PVP at least grind for 2 pieces of the Marshal/Warlord set for the +20 stamina bonus; combined with the already high stam totals on all the gear pieces, it's a nice upgrade to any classes survivability.

Small update - in the two days since the patch went live (and I could play), I've earned around 22k honor - enough to buy the General's Plate Pants.

Sweetness.

Oh yeah. Nothing but PvP for me all weekend.

Edit: Which BGs you do? Team/Solo? Any other quick honor tips you'd recommend?

I picked up a deathguard's cloak (the old exhalted AB cloak), and the black war raptor that I've always wanted. I didn't mean to pick up the cloak, but I logged out last night with about 7k honor, and my brother must have hopped on my account today and purchased it (which is coold b/c it's the one blue item that I was still wearing which could be replaced by a better PvP piece. Other than that, I'm going to grind for weapons when finals are over (so ~2 weeks give or take). The way I was gaining rep, I don't forsee it taking me more than a week to get both weapons. Sadly, with DE alts now nerfed, I'm going to have to pay a buttload for agi/sader...

sounds too easy to me. where's the point if everyone will have gm/hwl gear in a few weeks? and if it compares to t2, why should it be obtainable in a few evenings of playing? bah.

can anyone link me the caster sword/dagger pls?

A mix of WSG and AB. Speant most of the time in a guild group that was about half (maybe a little less) of our very well-geared mains... and half rather poorly gueared alts. (Although... poorly geared for us usually means at least some MC gear, often quite a bit of MC gear. Still!) We were doing quite well... we usually lose in AB (not used to alts, bad at assisting, whatever) but we were rolling along nicely. WIth half of our team getting randomly plowed in two hits we took a guild run in full Tier 3 to an INCREDIBLY close game, although we lost by 100 points. Still, their two Corrupted Ashbringers and two Might of Menethils weren't helping them very much in the AB game against our MC-geared alts, so don't get discouraged.

Secondly, especially if you're not going to be raiding (as much) or even if you are, don't be afraid to spec PvP. Pick up the random tools like Blazing Speed (fricking _godly_)... but also don't spec total idiocy. Some of the new, nonconvential specs are incredlby potent in PvP.

Example: Restoration Shaman (WITHOUT Mana Tide) are now PvP healing gods. Earth Shield + Healing Interruption talents give them 100% uninterruptable heals plus 15% resistance to kick/silence effects... and Earth Shield is obscenely strong. Just... obscene. My guild leader's alt Shaman (~3500 HP unbuffed, bad armor even with a shield) lasted about 30 seconds against a Tier 3 Hemo Spec'd Rogue _by himself_. It heals for an enormous amount and the heals just become interruptable. It's... well... insane.

Resto Shamans become Holy Paladins in terms of survivability. It's rediculously good in group PvP, so make sure not all of your shaman spec Enhnoob or Pewpewbolts.

Anyway... random PvP ramblings over. Get friends from your guild together and get cranking, you'll do fine and it's a lot of fun.

D'oh. Most of my non-raid time is late at night when the guild is mostly dead. Oh well, I'm still PvP'ing my everloving butt off.
