Retrieving character list :: World of Warcraft

So, I've been waiting all day to download the patch, I've installed it, waited for the server to come online after maintainance, logged in, authenticated and now it's frozen at "Retrieving character list" for 15 minutes. Tried everything, still same message. I can create new characters on different servers, just can't access my main servers. Annoying.

I wasn't even getting that far last night on my main server. Mine was just saying "connected" and sitting there. Fortunately, I was able to get in just fine on the other server that I have a character on. I played around on that one for a few hours before trying to get back on my main server (which I was able to do successfully.)
