My problem with the recent downtime and crashing isn't that it happens, it's that it takes so long for them to correct the problem. I understand crashes happen, especially after patch week but it really shouldn't take over an hour to restart a realm during prime time.

It's quite frustrating when you're sitting there with 40 people unable to do anything, there's no ETA on the realm status forum and it takes over an hour for them to restart the server.

Bring on the downrating because I expect a bit better service than that, I'll live.

Titles like scholar, sage, and guru are obtained by having a higher rating. 3.01-3.65 means scholar status. Karma between 3.66 and 4.34 = sage. Karma between 4.35 and 5 = guru.

The more creative "titles" are gained through subscribing to the site. Post count affects the number of stars you have.

I can't help but laugh at the notion that Blizzard is doing anything other than their very best to take care of their customers.

First off, consider the time and money that went into the development of the game. You don't spend years and countless dollars to create a product that you're indifferent about. This isn't just another Madden Football where you crank one out every year.

Second, they have no desire to kill the golden goose. Clearly they are printing money with this game. The last thing they want is to lose customers. 1 day of downtime could mean someone using that day to play a new game that they may fall in love with and leave WoW for. It's is in their best interest financially to keep us all happy.

Finally, the fact that they are continuing to upgrade the game is clear proof that their interest lies in improving the gameplay experience fo all of us.

It's like complaining about road construction... a short inconvenience on the way to decades of improvement.

why dont you shut your mouth and stop sticking up for billion dollar companies.

Off-topic... I see this attitude a lot. It intrigues me. The thing about billion dollar companies is that they employ a lot of people. If you say "***** rich people" and try to steal from them and ***** them over in every way possible (i.e., taking money out of the cash drawer at work because you "deserve it more" or "it won't hurt anyone", or screaming your way into a refund at a shop for an empty box or used-up online codes), if everyone did that, the company would go bankrupt and a lot of innocent people would be out of jobs.

Now, I'm not talking about enforcing rules on companies, like they have to control their pollution or treat their employees right. Companies that can't afford to be ethical in their business shouldn't have the privilege to exist, but that doesn't make vigilante justice right or effective. I'm also not saying that the majority of rich businessmen aren't soulless beings who deserve the spite of the lower class... they're not all like that but I do know where the stereotype comes from. I'm just talking about the jaded, selfish individual who thinks that the more money you have, the more evil you are without exception... and thus tries to ***** as much money out of "the man" as possible? I'm missing something here.

Just because your actions (or thoughts) hurt a company rather than an individual doesn't make your actions or thoughts any more moral. Companies are run by individuals and while one person being a **** isn't going to put much of a dent in things, if we all acted like that the world would be a pretty terrible place.

If you are so against big business, then boycott the major companies that you find so offensive. Buy from local mom and pop stores. That is the proper way to demonstrate lack of support for what they do.

More on-topic... the 7.5 million figure is active accounts, not characters or human players, and it includes the US, China, Korea, and Europe.

buhhh.... I want to have it both ways.

I want to enjoy video games and am willing to pay $X to do it, but at the same time begrudge them for making money off a product that I willingly pay for.

Talk about the height of hypcrisy.

Even if you buy from the mom and pop stores, you are still supporting the big businesses that make the goods they sell.

From the water that runs in your home, to the electricty that turns on your computer you are paying for a big business to keep operating.

You could buy a kerosine heater, but even then a big company generally makes those...

I guess you would have to turn amish or something to avoid supporting the big businesses.
