I'm sure it's been posted before, but I couldn't find anything related...

So after about a million times asking where locations were and getting coordinates as a response, I installed cosmos and I like it a lot. However, someone mentioned that there were other mods out there, and that I had the ability to make my own as well. I wanted to explore both options, but I didn't want to loose all my settings in Cosmos if I decided to go back.

so:

1) How do I remove my UI Mods?
2) Can I save my files for the setings?
3) Any recomendations for Other mods? Someone mentions CTMod and I was going to look into that.

Thanks everyone!

Cosmos is really bloated :(

If you go into your WoW folder, your addons will be under the Interface/Addons directory. If you want to make a full backup and start from scratch, simply rename this folder (ex. AddonsXXX); that will cause a new addons folder to be created when you restart the game. You can then add whatever new UI mods you'd like to try out, but if you ever decide to go back, just delete this new Addons folder, rename the old one back to "Addons" and you're good to go :)

I am a big fan of Nurfed (www.nurfedui.net) as my main UI and I use Titan Panel for coordinates (as well as the few other nifty features it has).

Yah it is rather bloated. There are a lot of things that I really like about it, but some things are just too much. I really just started playing about 2 months ago, but I'm a programmer so I understand how to make the mods, and I was thinking about doing one myself really, but I wanted to look around for other possible matches as well. Ultimately if I stick with it long enough, I'll prolly end up writing my own though :)

If you only save the addons folder, you will lose all your saved settings.

I'm pretty sure if you want to copy everything you need to copy the addons folder and the WTF folder.

Hmm well if he is adding different mods, then the saved settings for his old mods should remain unaffected.

But you bring up a good point and it is better to be safe than sorry (always a pain setting up old settings for the umpteenth time)
