Gnome wants RamFollow

#1 Dec 04 2006 at 11:38 AM Rating: Decent
I'm a level 32 gnome and when I hit 40 I want to be able to buy a ram mount. I realize I need to get Exalted with Ironforge to do this, but don't know how to earn reputation with them, other than turning in copious amounts of cloth. What are some other ways?

Besides doing the besides turning in cloth you can also turn in runecloth. That helps raise faction slightly faster. Also find the quests for IF and do as many as you can. Doing cloth turn-ins and doing the quests will help you raise faction faster. Good luck with getting that ram P.

/agree with Argereth Scholar

yea cloth and quests that are given by people with the IF thing under their name are the best ways to get IF rep

Does Reputation dwindle over time the way Honor does?
#5 Dec 04 2006 at 6:10 PM Rating: Decent
Rep doesn't go done nor does honor. the only time honor goes down is when you kill Civillians, quest givers, and the Flight path people. That's the only time I seen honor go down.

No I think he means that if you don't PvP, then your rank and honor will deteriorate. No, rep is permanent, it will never go down unless you are at war with them or some other weird thing that I don't know of. It is very difficult to get a level 40 cross-race mount, but I guess it is possible. Good luck on that ram.

It is very rare to get a croos race lvl 40 mount...U WILL be able to get it done by lvl 60 though...but yeah quets with Dwarfs from Iron Forge...i dont know many for ur lvl most were back in Loch...Dun and some in wetlands...

You can just spend the same amount of time and roll another dwarf character, it's honestly kind of complicated getting a ram for a gnome at level 40. I had only seen one level 46 gnome lock on my server with a tiger. Never saw anybody below level 60 with other mounts except that their races have to offer.

Well, making a dwarf character kind of defeats the purpose. I don't just want a ram, I want a gnome riding it. In any case though, I'll do what I can as far as quests and cloth and if I don't make it by 40, then I'll just get there as fast a I can.

The problem you are going to ht is that to get exalted the only practical way is the additional runecloth quest which is a level 60 quest.

to get a cross-race mount is pretty easy just make your char and run to the other starting zone you might be able to do your class quest at the city your lvling or simply run back to the orginal start zone then run back.

P.S. ALOT of running :P

it's nigh impossible to do at level 40.

at 60, exalted with ironforge is really really easy to get because you get 5x rep for the av quest turnins. ie: a turnin worth 10 stormpike rep (everyone in the bg gets this) also gets you 50 ironforge rep (only the person turning in gets this.)

OK, here's another question, which maybe I should just start a new thread for, but I'll try here first..

Given that it's nigh on impossible to get Exalted with Ironforge by level 40...is there ANOTHER faction that is easier? Perhaps I could get a horse, or a panther, or some other rare thing by 40, even if not a ram.

Honestly, I've got nothing against Mechanostriders, I just like the idea of having a cross-faction mount of any kind. If there were another faction that was easier to get Exalted with, I might try to hit them by 40.

I'm not going to pay someone to power-level my character you loser. The only thing worse than a geek who's addicted to WoW is a geek who's addicted to WoW, too lazy to actually play it , and has more money than they know what to do with.

If I can't get the mount at 40, I'm ok with that, as I said in earlier posts. The reason I'm ok with it is because playing the game is what it's all about. If the game makes it so I need to be 60 to get a cross-faction mount, so be it. I'll work hard and get to 60.

People who buy gold or pay someone else to power-level thier characters aren't really playing the game. They're CHEATERS. Maybe being instantly powerful and rich will fill the void in your self-esteem, but a real gamer knows that the feeling of achieving something you actually WORKED for is what makes a game rewarding to play.

Why do you think they deleted your link? Because people like you cheapen the game experience for everyone involved. You should be ashamed of yourself for advertising a website like that.

"Right. You're absolutely 100% right. I am a noob. I have played this game for only a month now, and know nothing about it. I am also a loser with no friends and no success in real life. I make up for my low self-esteem by hiding inside the fantasy world that is WoW where I can pretend to be succesful and great."

Is that what you were expecting to hear? Because I'm sorry, but that's jut not how it is. The real loser here is someone who thinks it's more important to have a level-60 character made FOR them than to play by the rules.

"Wasting" time gaming to feel good about myself would not even make any logical sense. If I were suffering from low self-esteem, I'd want a quick-fix to get a high-level character instantly, so I could feel powerful. I'd probably resort to CHEATING, like YOU.

As I said time and time again, it's not important to me if I can't get a Ram, because what's more important to me is my INTEGRITY. I play only rarely. It's taken me nearly 7 months just to get this character to level 32. But I will NEVER buy gold, or pay for power-levelling, because that's not really playing the game.

Consider a metaphor, if you will. Pretend you want to be a great basketball player. You could invest a lot of time and effort into practicing and building your skills slowly over time. That would make you a great basketball player.

Or, you could pay Michael Jordan to play for you, and put your name on his jersey. Would that make you a great basketball player? No, it would make you a sad, sad, pretender.

That's what you're doing when you pay someone else to level your character for you. It may be "your" character, just like it could be "your" name on Michael Jordan's jersey. But the truth is, you didn't accomplish anything and are pretty pathetic for thinking that's how the game should be played.

If you think playing the game is a waste of time, and even a monkey could get a level-60 character, then WHY THE HELL ARE YOU PLAYING??? You're obviously not getting any kind of rewarding experience from the game.

In all seriousness, if cheating is your answer to every problem, maybe you should just go buy a gun and wipe your fragile, sad little self off the planet so the rest of us don't have to feel bad for you.

I'm enjoying the slap fest... keep it up.

No seriously, are you two just trying to boost your post counts? Please tell me (Kayleefrye) you're not seriously name calling and arguing with someone on an internet message board. Did you ever stop to think that maybe this person is purposely baiting you and you're falling into it head first? ...and OliviaT, if you're not baiting on purpose, you're seriously fighting back?

Ahh, I love good humor and I'm sure you two are just trying to make my Sunday evening at work a little more enjoyable, and for that I applaud and thank you both.

Carry on.
