WoW abbreviations and lingoFollow

#1 Nov 30 2006 at 7:48 AM Rating: Decent
Good morning fellow WoWers, I am fairly new to the game (only have been playing for about a month now) and I have experienced some frustration and confusion when interacting with other players when they use abbreviations. I learned "PST" over time means to whisper but I can not figure out any other ones.

I can't imagine I am the only new player who has trouble with this and was wondering if someone would be kind enough to type out a list of common WoW abbreviations? Also I feel it may be helpful if an admin. stickies this topic so that future noobs like myself could quickly find it. Thank you in advance!

A good number of the common abreviations are listed in the back end of your game manual :) The most common being..

PST - Please send tell
WTS - Want to sell
WTB - Want to buy
WTT - Want to trade
LFG - Looking for group
LFM - Looking for more

VC - Vancleef
Stocks - Stockade
Gnomer - Gnomeran
BFD - Blackfathom Depths
SFK - Shadowfang Keep
SM - Scarlet Monastery (arm- armory; cath - catherdral; lib - library; gy - graveyard)
ZF - Zul'Farrak
Mara - Maradon
ST - Sunken Temple
BRD - Blackrock Depths
Strat - Stratholome
DM - Dire Maul

I don't have all of them and some may be wrong but these are some instances.

DM can be both Deadmines and Dire Maul, but most often Dire Maul will be called "DM east" "DM west" "DM north" because it's 3 sections.
In Dire Maul there is a lot of very nice stuff to find, much of it are for droods tho but there are important and very valuable drops for every class. Too bad not so many go venturing in groups there anymore.. end of rant

Now I always thought it was a tell because when you say "pst" it sounds like "pst, *then whispered conversation*".
