Need a link to a previous SM Graveyard thread about $$$.Follow

Hopefully I typed the title well enough where it doesnt throw people off.

A couple of weeks ago (maybe even a month) there was a thread about someone wanting to grind for gold to buy <insert item here>. They were told that the SM Graveyard had been nerfed and they should try another place.

Then other posters started naming off places they like to farm for items that could be sold off for gold/silver.

I am sure someone threw in, "YOU NEED TO FISH" somewhere, but I am looking for the places to actually farm by fighting.

I have a L.60 Rogue and a L.60 Warlock so getting gold isnt really a problem, but I want to farm somewhere that I can solo and not have to rely on others when I just want to solo for a little bit.

Is there a place that has replaced the SM Graveyard for farming? I am almost positive that the link that I am asking for had several places listed.

I will take any positive feedback and any places that you think are good, as long as you realize I want to solo doing so.

No... I dont want to fish right now. The L.60 rogue is about 225 fishing or so, but I want to FIGHT!

Thanks for the info.

That's actually a pretty good place, but even at L.60 you get a lot of downtime.
The price that you can sell the texts for is a very good reason to farm there.

I was thinking of a place a little lower level than Silithus... maybe a place with L.40-45ish enemies.

This is a secret, so don't tell anybody else. I've been lucky with my Shaman and I got to farm here for 2 days straight without interferings.

Southwest corner of Badlands, north of the Ogre cave. Theres like 20 of the lvl 43~ Rock Elementals, and also Rare spawn every few hours or so.

The vendor trash is lovely, and you can get Elemental Earth fairly fast. Its not the best money, but its something.

I got about 50g in few hours grinding my rested exp there. :)

Other good places that come to mind are the pirate cove in Tanaris (cash from the mobs plus a good amount of mageweave) and the naga in Feralas (lots of vendor trash, iirc, and the admittedly miniscule chance of golden pearls).

I still farm SM Graveyard. Vendor all the greys and soulbounds, sell greens and silk.

Personally i like grinding in Azshara. With the naga's. I dont know why, they do have some pretty good chances to drop items. Plus the chances at golden pearls as well.

This place is usually picked over as well though.

I would still run SM, the library has a few chests, and i have had blues drop in them quite a few times.

Also you could run uldaman, there are quite a few drops there that sell for moderate $$. As a rogue you could easily pick off only the choice mobs, I have seen a guide about that.

Its a rogue guide to uldaman and making money. Its on this site, here's the link:

I hope that helps.

Pick a rep you would like to have and grind it. I had made quite a bit off the mobs by the time I was exhalted with the Timbermaw.

yes! timbermaw is a great way to go, they have some great grey items that drop, a very LARGE number of good blue/purple drops. And you very often get green drops. Not to mention each camp has at least 2 chests that respawn every 30 mins approx.

I agree, rate up!

I’m a firm believer in farming for more than one thing at a time. And reputation is a good option. In that vein the undead in the various fields in Western Plaguelands also work well. If you have the trinket equipped you get drops you can turn in for Argent Dawn reputation. The skeletal undead also drop bone fragments. All the undead also drop coins as well as runecloth. And like everything else they can drop both gray and green items. This is also an excellent place for leveling lock picking. If you pick pocket each mob before you kill it you can get locked boxes. Picking these will take you all the way to 300 lock picking. You also get a few slivers and possibly a star ruby from pick pocketing as well. And though I’ve not tried it yet, from what I’ve read you can now even pick the pockets of mobs others are fighting.

Professions can make a huge difference on where to grind. My rogue has skinning and mining. Grinding the yeti in Winterspring is great. They have coin and other random drops. They can be skinned for rugged leather. And thorium spawns in their cave. If you don’t raid often you can turn the leather into rugged armor patches, or have a friend do it for you, and save up for the Darkmoon Faire necklace. It’s perfect for a rogue.

If you have a tailor you may want to farm the various camps of satyrs in Azshara. They drop coins, random gray/green items, runecloth and the occasional felcloth. I’ve even looted a purple world drop from them once. Or if you are only after mageweave, there are various bandit camps along the base of the mountains on the other side of the ogres near Southshore. I’ve farmed there a few times while leveling tailors, I have four that can make mooncloth, and I only once found someone else killing them.

Best of luck.

My rogue loves to do this. It's likely the ONLY reason his lockpicking isn't 70+ points behind instead of the 14 it's at right now (286/300 LP is decent for a recently dinged 60).

And I can attest that the pickpocketing of mobs in combat (as long as you're still stealthed) works fine. I leveled my rogue in conjunction with my wife's Paladin and she occasionally wandered too close before I could finish picking pockets. Just moved over, took their lunch money, and stabbed in the back for being so rude. :D

Slight deviation...
There is no need for having 285+/300 lockpicking.

Go to BRD, just inside the entrance you've got 3 doors you can lockpick that give you a skillup. The first door to your left, and 2 more just inside that door, for a total of 3 free points that you can do without any combat involved.

Now go out of BRD and right-click your portrait to reset the instance. Go back in and repeat the lockpicking 4 more times for 15 easy skillups.

Grats on 300 LP.

On your warlock you can farm WS, that's what I do. Go down to Frostwhisper Gorge, fear-chain farm the giants. If one of your professions is mining, there is 6 or 7 rich thorium veins as well. If you kill them fast, you can either kill the giants around the outskirts of the Gorge, the demons (Slayers), or anything else you can farm in WS. The Frostwhisper (Frostmaul?) Giants have a 2% chance to drop the Greater Frost Protection Potion Recipe. I found 3 over the Thanksgiving break, sold them all for 35g each. I made 750g farming there and Tyr's Hand over the past week.

Wow, did not know this could be done, awesome. Now all those rogues that complain that is hard to get those last few levels i will tell them that!
