Firstly, I'm terribly sorry if this question has been asked many times before.

Well, I play both FFXI and WoW. I picked WoW up during a little break I took from FFXI and mildly enjoyed it, but wasn't enthralled.

However, I have alot of old friends from FFXI who play WoW. Trouble is, they're on US servers and I live in the UK. Being able to play with all my old friends would make WoW so much more worthwhile for me.

So, are there any ways I could play on US servers from the UK?
I'd like a list of all my choices, please. ^^

Thanks in advance!

You could proxy your connection through a free US proxy and buy it from http://www.direct2drive.com/, but it is risky. Alternatively you could get a friend in the USA to buy it for you, and you send them the money for it via paypal and they just give you the CD-key to make your account. Then you would just have to download the US Trial version to install it and log in with your US account.

I had the same problem and sadly, it isn't possible to play on American servers with an EU account. EU and US are completely seperate databases and servers, no connection whatsoever, so you'd have to get a brand new account using an American auth key. What's more, you'd also need the US version of WoW, which you can either download or import, I guess. The European version and the American version have different patches, so they can't access each other's realms.

Some sites sell new US authorization keys, where you can make an account. Even then you'd have to have a credit card recognized by America (Visa, Mastercard, etc). But some sites also sell game cards, like Offgamers.com. Lucky for you, your American friends can also help you out with the more petty nonsense like putting in a zip code or whatever.

Good luck!

I have an account on a US server which I play from time to time with guys from EQ; I use the client I picked up while playing the beta. If you can find that, then just buy a cd key from ebay. Or pay the couple of extra quid and have the disks shipped. I picked up 2 on opening day 2004 without any problems.
